As far as i know ( never bothered about Pinmame, prefer the "real ones"),
Pinmame only emulates the Dot Matrix Display...am i right with this one ???

It's a total emulator, sounds, DMD, the works. It's pretty cool, you should
check it out.

Here's a quick guide to getting started with pinmame.

1- Unzip and install Visual Pinball.

2-Unzip and install VPinmame inside the Visual pinball folder.

3-Create a folder inside the Visual Pinball folder (Not the Pinmame folder)
and rename it to Roms.

4-Download the VBS files and unzip them into the tables folder in the Visual
pinball folder, not all the tables that need these files have them included
in the zip file.

5-Unzip table zips to the tables folder in Visual pinball.

6-Place the corresponding rom zip for the table in the roms folder that you
made. This is where it can get a bit confusing, most tables will run with the
rom file zipped and just placed in the roms folder, try this way first and
if you get an path error then unzip the roms into a folder inside the roms
folder with the same name as the original rom zip.
You can also just unzip the rom files into roms folder but this is a bit
messy.

You should no be able to load the tables up from the file menu in Visual
pinball, hit F2 to get instructions when the table is loaded.

Here are some helpful sites with rom/table files and info that I have found.
http://www.hippie.net/shivasite/vptables/
http://www.hippie.net/shivasite/index.shtml
http://www.randydavis.com/vp/
http://www.pinmame.emuviews.com/home.html
You should be able to get every table that's emulated from these two sites,
as well as all the other files you need.
Rog.

What does pinmame give you over and above Visual Pinball?

Pinmame runs the pin rom WITH VP, so that you get the whole package. Just
using VP only gives you the pin playfield.
