M.A.M.E. v0.37 BETA 15 (May 24 2001) - Multiple Arcade Machine
Emulator
Copyright (C) 1997-2001 by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME Team
MAME is an emulator: it reproduces, more or less faithfully, the
behaviour of several arcade machines. But hardware is useless without
software, so an image of the ROMs which run on that hardware is
required. Such ROMs, like any other commercial software, are
copyrighted material and it is therefore illegal to use them if you
don't own the original arcade machine. Needless to say, ROMs are not
distributed together with MAME. Distribution of MAME together with ROM
images is a violation of copyright law and should be promptly reported
to the authors so that appropriate legal action can be taken.
Usage: MAME gamename [options]
MAME -list for a brief list of supported games
MAME -listfull for a full list of supported games
See readme.txt for a complete list of options.

The best damn web sites on the 'net ;)
Took me all night to figure it out (cause I never, and I mean never, use dos.
Or the dos prompt.
I'm strictly a dumb windows user.

First time I tried it, I just opened a DOS prompt and typed
c:\mame\mamew.exe -createconfig
It didn't seem to work. Actually it worked, but the config file was not
created in the right directory.
You have to cd to the MAME directory first.

You may also notice a laxative effect.

MameW -createconfig
unless you have renamed the mameW.exe to mame.exe
