Wrong group, but thanks for the hint.
My PC won't start up if the TRD2 DVD is in the drive, unless i remove
the DVD drive from the bootable drives list in the BIOS. Sometimes it
starts up after a while anyway but then my DVD drive is missing!

OT from me also, while we're on this topic. :-)
I was thinking about buying this game, since I found the original TOCA 1 so
pleasing. At this point I don't care if there is a working no-CD crack or
not. Is the game worth it? I hope so...
Is it worth tracking down the DVD version, or can one make do with the
multiple-CD-ROM version?
Heh. Well, that's the way it sometimes goes in this group. One of the
things i love about AGM is that there is almost no "topic police" here,
and yet the group still works well, though it has taken a few dips into
total anarchy over the years...!

The way i see it, TOCA Race Driver 2 is the PC equivalent of the Gran
Turismo series on the Playstation. Only the car handling is more
realistic, making the game a lot more difficult. It is not a game you
just pop in and play casually, for me the learning curve has been very
steep with this game. Especially because when you work at getting good
at controlling one car and finally get to win a race with it, then the
next car you get to race with handles differently and you have to work
hard to learn again.. and again. The frustration factor is pretty high
for me with this game, but it really pays off in the end, it is VERY
satisfying once you succeed. ;-)
The graphics are absolutely stunning if your GPU can handle it. It ran
pretty well on my Geforce2Ti, but it's gorgeous on my new 5900FX.
Download the demo and see for yourself!

I have the DVD version so i couldn't say. But i guess so, since you
don't have to swap disks.

I did download and install the demo a while back. It was kind of frustrating,
especially since they come right out and TELL you that it's only X per cent
complete and you should EXPECT certain limitations... It loaded my system
noticeably (XP 2200+ CPU, 512 MB PC3200, ATI Radeon AIW 9800 Pro, Asus A7V-
8X), but I did have quite a few background apps in SysTray so I couldn't
complain.

All I need now is to let the price creep down a bit. eBay suggests it's still
a hot item!
Thanks for your feedback.
I'm on a 1400/133MHz PIII with 512MB RAM, a Sound Blaster Audigy and the
aforementioned video card.
If you have problems running Toca 2, given your specs, something must be
wrong with your configuration! The demo ran fine here, even on the
Geforce2Ti. As I remember it, performance was the same in the demo as it
is in the retail version.
Boy, are /you/ in the wrong newsgroup. This one is about arcade machine
emulation, not warez. Try Google.
