The Maximus frontend works on the other computer I tried
it on. The arcade computer --> I did try uninstalling and
re-installing, still an instant reboot when choosing a game.
I haven't looked at it any deeper as I've been pretty content
just having the ver.77 roms working with mame32fx.
Just hate having 25k roms and not takind advantage of them.
:)

A friend of mine gave me the video card as he had it sitting
around. Since my original post - some research is telling
me this particular card had some issues, tho I can't pinpoint
it to the card yet without doing some more homework.

Very true and much of the reason I've not gone back trying
to fix the issue. I grabbed the newer (.147) set knowing that
most games would go unused, but the much larger selection
allows me to try some 'newer' games and maybe fixes some
issues with some of the older games.

While realizing the truth in all that, it still seems a rom count
of 25,000 would result in more than 6k games.

Thanks for that info! I had seen IV mentioned and grabbed
it.... put it on this computer I'm posting from <not the arcade
cabinet> but it apparently requires .NET 4 framework
and I didn't want that installed on this computer. When
I DO try to update the arcade machine again, I'll grab
.NET 4 and put on that machine to see if I like/can use IVPlay.

My monitor is a Sylvania 24" (diagonal) tv using the S-Video
input. An LCD just doesn't replicate the old games "looks"
like I wanted. The Sylvania fits the cabinet perfectly.
I kept three 'dead' arcade games when I sold my pool/gameroom.
Gave my electrical engineering buddy first pick (all three
had bad monitors) and he rebuilt his monitor. He offered
to do mine as well, but I abuse him hard enough as it is, and
the tv was such a perfect fit. When I make it around to doing
cabinet #3 I may take him up on his offer.
I'll certainly go re-look at the ActLabs version since you
give it a good recommendation.

Probably a bit beyond what I'd wish to attempt if 60
bucks or less would buy me one.
Again, many thanks for the input!
