Has anyone found sound samples for Bagman? I recall the arcade game had
some really funny voice effects...

A friend and I use to play just to hear the bizzare sounds. We wondered if
they were a foriegn language or something. :)

Like when he grabbed a girder and fliped himself up so he could ride a passing
cart he would say "Ooo'eef!". When he came down "Ha Hoopla!" And when he got
hit he'd say "I-E-I-E!" (If I remember my mispent youth in the arcade well.
:))

This might seem like a stupid tidbit, but I couldn't help reading the last
post about what Bagman is saying when he is hit. I'm pretty sure Bagman was
originally released by a French company (too lazy to check), and so he is
probably saying one of two French idioms for "Ouch!" when he is ko'd; one
being "Ayoye!" and the other being "Aie-Aie-Aie!" I miss the funny voices
too. They were worth losing your quarter for in the arcade :)

If I remember correctly it was a French company that licensed the game
to Stern, which is why you hear French samples. The ones I remember
from the game are: Oui, Hoppa, Ay-yi-yi, and of course another sample
was the sound of the pick when you walked with it.

Curtis

Yes Yes Yes!

The original of the game was in French - Le Bagnard.
I never could understand how to play this game - Died within seconds
of each life starting.

I loved the sounds though - ' Oooooeeeff' - 'Ey Hapla!' and the
ubiquitous 'Oy-oy-oy' when he died. Love to hear them again.

On a similar footing - How about the samples for Money Money?
'Now you can go and get the money' - 'Take the car, the bank is near',
and - 'I'm in the money!'

Christian.

Indeed, I'm missing those "Club" le Bagnard sounds, too...

No word of it in the MAME driver, though....

Would be great to play with complete sound again!

I remember partial sound in a previous MAME for "Track 'n Field". I
also remembered me being happy for a long time ('till now) since it's
back! ;-)

when you cleared a board, didn't he say "I won"?
