Although I enjoyed "Revenge of the Sith", I couldn't help but wonder at the
steady decrease of George Lucas' production quality. Even though his films
are technically grandiose, the underlying faults are obvious. The original
Star Wars was clearly a milestone. But afterwards, all films went down the
highway of mediocrity, with the exception of "Attack of the Clones", which
was clearly the best Stars Wars ever. I am a little saddened that the series
is now over, but at the same time, I'm somewhat relieved. Ever since "2001:
a Space Odyssey", Lucas' first film, was released, I think he has only gone
downward, and maybe a hypothetical 3rd trilogy would just be a
ground-breaking special effects feast, but an otherwise total fiasco, since
he cannot write a decent script.

Just my grain of salt.

Two of the greatest statements ever!

I'm sorry guys, that was not a troll. I was just a little drunk when I wrote
that... My apologies if I infuriated anyone! 2001 is of course Stanley
Kubrick's classic movie. As for which Star Wars should be considered the
best, this question I believe is open for debate! Even if "Attack of the
Clones" was not the best, I believe it contains some of the best light-saber
fights in all 6 movies. I have watched the final fight between Anakin,
Obi-Wan and Dooku over and over. Remember Christopher Lee was 77 back then,
and he still performed his own stunts, as a master swordsman he is. I
believe this was one of the most brilliant fighting scenes.

Peace to all!

That answer is obvious and NOT open to debate. The best Star Wars
film is the one that had the least amount of involvment by George Lucas -
The Empire Strikes Back. That movie was by far the best film in terms of
direction, pacing, & performance. Of course, Lucas has to f**k it all up
in 1997 (and again in 2004). Lucas should just write out the checks and be
a producer, and NEVER put pen to paper for a script or even think about
directing ever again.

Christopher Lee did NOT do his own stunts. Watch the documentaries on the
Bonus ATOC DVD. And if you think that the Saber sequences in AOTC were
better than TPM or ROTS, than I think you are a fool.

I have to agree with that statement. Good fights in AOTC, but not great.
They were not meant to be great fight sequences because they weren't the
focus of the movie.
