how hard is this?

I just started icewind dale (1) and I can't get past the goblins at the
bridge without losing nearly all six of my group.
can anyone suggest a combat strategy that could help, I really seem to suck
at this.

I had the same problem; and just kept trying until I manged to get
them without losing a arty memeber. You can by clicking on individual
characters have them attack specific goblins but I found the best was
a general melee. If have mage, druid, mage, make sure one has a
healing spell; and another a combat spell use them. Retreat to the
town and rest in hotel if have the coin overnight and come back to
tackle them again. That will restore you health and they will not
have regained theirs.
