i know this is old hat ,but is there any way to change crosshairs and or
color in HL2?

There are plenty of multicolor and shapes for HL and are easy to change but
Google as I might the only ones I have found are at Bullseye. com, and only
diferent shapes but not color. they are still white or off white.

My old eyes are not too good as I grow older and I am having trouble seeing
the white dots in the HL2 crosshair, Red Green or yellow and blue would be
much easier to see especialy on light backgrounds.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Regards, Rene

I don't have an easy answer for you, but maybe this will help.
In CS and Condition Zero, you have colored crosshairs and can adjust the
size, all included in-game.
Maybe you can use those for HL2?? I don't remember how we did it in HL, but
maybe it's as simple as pulling the proper file and posting it for you?
Let me know if you know how to do this and I'll get the file for you if you
don't have CS.

Thanks Lefty, According to Bullseye HL and CS used Sprites whereas HL2
uses TTF font files so one will not work with the other. Guess all I can do
is use bigger crosshairs from Bullseyye.com.

Thanks, Rene

I was going to say be careful of swapping crosshairs as I know 2 guys
who got their CS:S games disabled in Steam for "hacking" using
non-standard crosshairs. But since you are only in the off-line HL2 you
"should" be Ok.
Just a word to the wise.

I have the same problem as you... Since there are no colored
crosshairs I found a different satisfactory solution... You notice
that the crosshairs remain in exactly the same spot on your monitor...
I simply got a red crayon and put a dot or a cross on the screen... It
looks perfect and can be wiped of with a kleenex...

What DirectX version are you running? And what problem are
you having with the default crosshairs?

Hiya CF, I have a new 22" LCD and am kinda hesitant to put marks or preasure
on it for fear of ruining it, although have used your idea on my old 19"
glass crt with great results.

Gues the crosshairs from "bullseye " will have to do, Thanks for the
suggestion anyway.
