Don't know where it is, but it's certainly not here - "Error 404 page not
found".
Anyway, why would you Warez something that's free in a few days anyway? And
seeing as it's a multiplayer only game who the hell are you gonna play
against if it's not released yet? And won't it be an unsupported version,
being unoffical an'all?
Crazy shit man, crazy.
Thanx for the "info" anyway.

Hi all,

The following address: http://members.visi.net/~twill/q3arena/ appears
to have a copy of TFC on it.
It's on a warez page for Quake III - whatever that is !

I would have told you earlier but I wanted to download it first.

Paul.

Yawn...

Maybeeeeeeee it only lasted a few mins but I've got it.

Im currently running a TFC server on my lan and it's definitely legitimate.
Whats the point of warez when it's free anyway - to get it first !

It decribes itelf as Half-Life Version 1.0.0.9 and as well as TFC it has a
few bug fixes.

For the unconvinced here's readme and installation log!

Readme (README1009):

Half-Life Verison 1.0.0.9
Update Readme
3/20/99

New Features Added to the Update:

- This Update will install Team Fortress Classic. Launch Half-Life as
normal and click on the 'Custom Game' button. Click on the 'Activate'
button to load Team Fortress Classic as the currently selected game.

- Launcher now supports downloading of custom modifications for Half-Life.
Clicking on the custom game button will bring up a list of the current games
on the Half-Life modification sever.

- Launcher now shows if a server is a dedicated, listen, or Linux server.

- Launcher detects if servers are running the same version of Half-Life as
you.

- Support for pinging multiple master servers added.

- Sorting options are now more robust in the launcher.

- Server passwords are checked before game engine is started.

- Dedicated server logging added.

- Dedicated server will now echo all client talking to the dedicated server
console.

Fixes in this Update:

- Single player game will no longer open up a Dial-Up connection box for
Internet Explorer 4.0 users.

- Fixed 'Used Decal # without a name problem.

- Decal downloading streamlined.

- Fixed timedemo/demo playback problems.

I also got hold of this of another site, and its crap.

I play on a lan, and every time I try to create a Lan game now, halflife
just bombs out back to windows. I have tried this on all 8 of my networked
machines and it still does the same. Ive ended up going back to 1.0008 until
the official release of the TFC 1.0009 patch.

week already. its 15 megs, the only problem is.. there is no servers that i
can find for it. it still is fun to set there and use nail guns or flame
throwers in the regular game though

Yes, TFC has the 1.0.0.9 patch. Why would you not want TFC? It's free and
will be much more fun than the current H-L team games.

Well, some people aren't interested in playing internet games. They
might only want to get the upgrade as a bugfix for the single player
game. Its kind of a waste of their time to make them download TFC.
There should be a 'download only essential components" option, and
then allow you to choose any extra parts that you want to download,
such as MP maps, player models, and things like TFC.

It's just like Quake2: The patches are for online play. If you are only
interested in the SP game then you don't need to download them. The whole
thing is an optional download unless you play multiplayer, then you need it.

Of course I want the TFC patch, but it would be nice if you could
download TFC and the patch separately. I have a 56.7 k modem, and I
don't think I've ever downloaded 14MB before (it'll take me at least 1.5
hours). If my phone line drops, I have to start again, which will SUCK
(assuming the server doesn't support resumed downloading).

Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhh... Wanna rip your throat out and $hit down your
neck... hehehehehe.... BTW, it shouldn't take 1 1/2 hours to download. Heck, I
downloaded the beta of TFC on my laptop's V.34 (33.6k) modem... It lasted an
hour and a few odd xx minutes. But it didn't add up to 1 1/2 hours though.
Downloaded pretty quick.

Um Goliath, where have you been? Hehehe, there's some shareware programs that
would let you do resume downloads... Good thing for me that AOL has auto-resume
if I ever did get cut off... One of those shareware was Go!Zilla... Forgot what
was the link, but search for Go!Zilla.

Great idea! (it'll still take a very long time, of course, but what can
you do?). Unfortunatly, I still won't be able to play Half-life while
I'm downloading without massive lag, but it's still better than using a
normal download server (especially as all the servers for TFC are likely
to be flooded out pretty soon after it's release). See you friday :)

Yeah - my software DOES support resumed downloading, but unfortunatly
not very consistantly. I'll take a look for some of that shareware,
though.
