Finally got HalfLife and I'm stuck in Surface Tension, standing on the
Electrical Cabinet, after saving two guards, killing a Tank and a bunker
and liberating a bunch of weapons from the heathen dogs. I can't figure
out how to jump from the darn cabinet to the stupid fire escape! I've
tried everything I can think of, including running and jumping, walking
and jumping, and so on. Help! TIA

You have got to jump to the fire escape

Run, jump and then up keys

Yes, I have been doing that, but I keep bouncing off the ladder, whether I'm
walking or running when jumping. Is there some trick to it, or what???

Do a long jump and let go of the crouch and jump keys and look up before
grabbing the ladder (dont let go of the forward key).

I think if you are straight ahead or even slightly upward, the forward key
will still make you climb down so be sure to look upwards.

I hope that made sense, it worked for me.

Forget the longjump bit - you can't longjump until you get the lomngjump
module, very late in the game. Aside from that, you're right - the crucial
bit is to not keep the Jump button held down after you jump.

hehehe.. lost a lot of time on this one..
you carefull exit thru the window at upper level and walk around the corner
on the narrow ledge onto the electric cabinets and then jump on ladder!
the exitting thru the window is tricky, if you move too fast you fell from
the ledge..

Cheers,
