Don't know if you've seen it or not but there's a new Mod out for UT. It's a
Swat Vs the Terrorists game.

Sounds familiar ?

It's only Beta 1 so there is a lot of work to do, but it looks like it could
be nice.

Very similar to CS but more Unreal like which is only natural based on the
engine.

My view is that it's one to watch. At the moment it plays far to fast for my
liking. That's the major thing I noticed. On a smaller side it lets you pick
up multiple weapons. Not sure if you can buy more than one but it certainly
lets you pick up dead guys stuff and keep your own. This I think needs to be
looked at as it could change the way to game plays, but that's just my
opinion.

Anyway I don't want to really slag it off as it's a first beta. Just keep up
the good work.

If your interested try.

Infiltration had a slider for game speed - maybe SWAT will implement one
too. The great thing about UT is it gives you a fair amount of access to
the game code, and from what I hear, amendments like this are pretty easy...

To be fair, they probably want to differentiate from CS a little. Multiple
weapons could be ok, igf there's a weight penalty for carrying them etc,
like Inf are planning.

I seem to remembe rthem commenting on Infiltration, so maybe we'll find
out...

Well, duh... :)

It needs lots of tweaking, but it`s solid enough. Basically, it`s CS
with bots. My main gripe is that it`s way too fast (like you said).
Turns into a contest of who can shoot and strafe the fastest
everytime. All the people who play CS like it was deathmatch will
probably love it though.

Absolutely. I`ve played it a lot during the day and it`s good fun. The
AK-47 rocks.

Hmm... One of the maps (Home Alone) is an obvious rip-off of
CS-Mansion and not really a good one either. If you look at the garage
door, you`ll see a texture that looks strangely familiar to any HL
player... I think it`s a nod of recognition in HL`s and
Counterstrike`s direction. :)

See you - Anders.

Yep, I'd have to agree, SWAT is very fast and is just like playing CTF,
expect with realistic weapons and different game objectives. I found myself
kneeing and slowly walking around corners to no avail. The bots just ran
everywhere, usually head long into battle blazing away.

I played bots using the inhuman level and found them just as stupid as in
average mode... except their accuracy was much better.

Mind you I had a great time playing a CS like game with no lag.
