I am never pleased to see tiny URL's that will lead me god knows
where.

It's a gay p0rn site - don't click on it.
Better than Mario?! C'mon, I do like Half-Life, but lets get real, he
doesn't compare to Sonic or Mario! Hell, I'd even give it to Commander
Keen first!

Ah don't mind these grumpy sods RandyE. Thanks for posting anyway, not
enough traffic to this group without the likes of yourself posting
anyway.
Bit disappointed though. There I was hoping to find some gay porn,
tsk...
Greatest gaming hero?
I doubt that. I think his entitlement to that is somewhat questionable
due to his vocal impairments although it does deprive us of yet
another set of awful dialogue normally associated with FPS's.
Mine might be the prince from Prince Of Persia. I really got attached
to that character and when did complete a challenge I did feel in some
part like the hero. Sometimes it's not what you do but how the game
tricks you into feeling.
A slight of hand or a trick of the eye. If you will.

I agree - the prince (at least in Sands of Time) would be one of mine,
together with Jade from Beyond Good and Evil, and Tommy Angelo from
Mafia - they're all characters you feel for, and want to help succeed.
I'm so glad they're talking about sequels to BGaE and Mafia.
One character I thought I'd get fed up with quickly, but have come to
love is Niko Bellic from GTA4 - I've taken the decent path whenever
offered a choice in the game, and feel I've rescued him in some small
way. I have killed a lot of innocents along the route, however, so
maybe it's all relative...

When I wrote this I was also trying to think of another. I've just
thought of him. Garrett from Thief (specifically Thief 2.
Great character. Complex, damaged goods. I superbly molded anti-hero
that does all the wrong things but you love for all the right reasons.
