The wall paintings. I was poking around with my flash light and there was a
painting depicting an evolution scene of some sort . The picture was from
right to left...Neanderthal Man Present Day Man.... Then Combine Man.

Just I thought I would point it out did anyone else notice?

Regards

yep, and the painting that's a plug for "Caste" too? That one is all
over though. HL2 is Not the first time I've seen that either.

There are a few readable things scattered throughout the game. That's a
good bit of the fun of HL and even more so HL2. There is a LOT of
byplay in this game. Listen to all the soldiers comms. Some of em say
some pretty funny stuff :) Sometimes you can glean just a little more
useful info from their yakking.
After I finish my first play through (won't be long now, I've read the
map list and know where I'm at in it), I am going through looking for
all this stuff. The 2nd time will take a lot longer I think. :)

I saw it also. I also saw a drawing (I think the same level) of two pistons
from a rotary engine. I guess there is a Mazda fan at Valve.

I wish I could understand what they're saying, but I only hear the odd word.
Pity, it sounds interesting.

I haven't got very far, but here's one I noticed. The missing triangular block
from the noughts & crosses game in the playground (do you call it tic-tac-toe?)
is on a table in one of the apartments :)

(I threw their TVs out of the window, and managed to hit the armoured car :) No
wonder they were after me.)

I'm surprised the poor residents weren't, as well... you bastard, as if
they didn't have a low enough quality of life already...

Did you notice that if you stand the tv on it's side before you unplug
it, the picture rotates as well... very cool...

I remember that. I threw it too :) Somehow, I think there was some
significance to that. maybe put it back and something happens? opens
something? I'll catch it on the replay :)

Oh, someone told me who she is in another ng for that other game, and I
forgot! Sorry.

Heck, they've only got Breen to watch, I was doing them a favour. Might be a
bit draughty from now on though...

No, it always switched off when I lifted it, as the cable came out of the wall.
I'll maybe try a more gentle shove next time :)

Lots of cool things to do in Kleiner's lab. The mini-teleport, for instance - I
kept hoping it would go wrong and create a horrific cactus/pot hybrid, but it
never did. Did anyone notice that the magnifying glass actually magnifies now?
It didn't in the E3 video (they used a shifted-view trick instead).

Same here at first, like at the trainstation. When I was out by the
last stage of the scout car, with the big RR trestle, I baited them a
while from cover well above them. One said "OK, lookout, here goes a
'nade! [he stoops over expectantly] 1....2.....3....4...Boom!" [he
straightens and rushes me] and I promptly shot him :) Seems that the
farther you get from City 17 itself, the better the talking gets?

Yeah, I did play with all that Paul, it was fun. They kept telling me I
had to get going tho :) OH and the Hula dancer DID dance for me going
and coming :) Also, I saw Gman on the monitor there. Twice. Got a
feeling that we'll see more than just him tho. Keep looking.

I'd like to see some of the quotes from the the lead characters and some
of the text from the combine soldiers.

I'd also like to see everything Dr Breen has said to see if I can gleam
any other information about the plot.

I've actually stood and listened to almost everything he's said, I'm
that dedicated to finding out what the f**k is going on!

In fact I've listened to him so much I'm ready to don a gas mask and go
beat the shi* out of some citizens!

Breen is clearly intelligent and cheesy. Why else would he hand
humanity over to the "benefactors"? So far, as you say, Earth was
invaded and quite summarily *owned* by whoever this combine is. They
are apparently a group of spacefaring species, and one or two of them
have chosen to keep a few of us for *[Awww...that ain't Riiiight!]*
purposes :( In short, planet Earth is truly up to its hairline in doo
doo. Gman and Co. determine the combines plan will have 100%
success...unless....they can throw a monkey wrench into it for a tune up
:) "Hello Mister Freeman, rise and shine! Wake up and smell the....
ashes! The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in
the world."
This is getting to be a story every bit as engaging as that of Homeworld
was to me. Now that game, I did NOT play it much nor want to play it.
I just wanted to see the whole story!!! I might buy HW2 just to see how
it went :)
HL and HL2 are an adventure to me, far more than a damn FPS. I want FPS
I do Quake or SS or Gore or UT. I love my adventures. That's why I
love Morrowind, Tombraider and Half-Life :)
Looking for any more legible graffitti? Me am :)
McG.
