Weird I keep getting an error "could not open bitmap file
gfx/shell/btns-main.bmp"

I dont know what it is. I checked Sierra's knowledge base they said it was a
corrupt install on the website. I tried all their suggestions. Nothing
works. I have reinstalled 20 times.

Does anyone know how to solve this???

This problem usually happens when there is insufficient space on your hd
when you install hl. Try deleting some stuff before installing HL.

Uh-oh...

Because they don't know $hit. What you have, is that you do not have sufficient
space on your HDD to install Half-Life. Half-Life requires *at least* 366 MB of
space. So, you got that much free space? I doubt it. That's how much you
need... Make sure you free up some space to reach at least 370 MB.

Yes. Delete unnecessary files.

I have recently posted the same problem, and I have 5gigs of space left, so
that is not the problem.

BTW I haven't managed to fix it yet. Ithink I may be asking for my money
back soon.

Try disabling "synch" on your CD rom settings. You can also try to install to
another PC, and then copy the WAD files over, in particular the valve/gfx.wad.

Note that this may or may not work - but the message is telling you that it
could not read something out of that wad.
