Hello,

Does anyone know why I get a Steam Error, "This game is currently
unavailable. Please try again at another time. [OK]" when I try to
launch a third party Half-Life 2 modification (e.g., Insect Infestation
and JailBreak!) from Steam client? If I set desktop shortcuts from
Steam for the modifications and launch from the desktop, then I get no
errors and they worked. Is there a fix (hopefully, not uninstalling and
reinstalling).

Thank you in advance. :)

Most errors can can be fixed by deleting "ClientRegistry.blob" in your
steam folder ("C:\Program Files\Steam") delete it after exiting steam
all the way and then restarting it. It well take longer to load and well
have an update message. But this well fix it most likely, deleting this
also make missing games come back.

It sounds like they're not installed properly.

I've been getting a similar error which I've traced to the Cox Internet
Security Suite (looks like either the spyware module or the parental control
module)

Hmm, I don't use any antivirus, anti-spyware, etc. programs.

Can you run it from desktop? I still have this problem so I just make a
desktop shortcut.
