I've not been able to find this information in the manual. Perhaps someone
can tell me where I can find it and/or what it means.
What I am referring to are the unit stats and how to read them. I know that
the first number is attack, then defense, and then movement. However, some
units have extra symbols that I can not figure out what they are. Here are
some examples:
1e-4t-1*2
<1e>-1-3*2
(6)-4t-6*2
13~e-4-1*2
What is the meaning of the brackets and tilde, the letters "e" and "t", the
asterisk, and any other symbols that exist for the unit stats that I've not
shown here? Is there a table or chart with this information?
Thanks,
MDK
I don't remember all of the modifiers possible, but the asterisk (and
number following it) show the reactor level of the unit. An "e" with
the attack rating is for Empath (+50% attack vs psi). <> surrounding
the attack rating is for SAM (able to attack air targets, defend vs air
targets with attack rating, +100% attack vs air, -50% attack vs
non-air). () surrounding the attack rating is for heavy artillery. A
"t" beside the defense rating is for Trance (+50% defense vs psi). And
I think the "~" is for Amphibious (able to attack over the land-water
edge).

e = empathy attack (+50% Psi)
t = trance defense (+50% Psi)
*2, *3, etc. = reactor level (more hit points)
< > = anti-air attack (can attack choppers, jets, & locusts)
< > = AAA defense (bonus vs. attacks from the air)
( ) = artillery attack (2 square range)
~ = amphibious assault
^ = airborne
There are others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

If I'm not mistaken, the -50% vs non-air only applies to aerial
interceptor units. A SAM missile rover still attacks ground units
at full strength, IIRC. The defend vs air targets with attack rating
I'm not sure about either (except in the case of an interceptor
launched from a base on an enemy turn to intercept an incoming attack,
what do they call that, "active air defense" or somesuch).

And doesn't get a bonus versus air units. It just gets to attack
them. It doesn't scramble either.

Were any added in crossfire?

I was wondering where that post was... forgot to snip it. Thanks for the repost.

LOL. I lost the fight and checked......6 hours later I only noticed it
seemed to add the term "Wave" to the name of the unit.

No symbol, eh? Interesting.
Wow... 6 hours. Nice marathon. I'm quite proud of the fact that you didn't just
use the scenario/cheat mode to check that out much faster. :)
