Apparently plans for a C-64 version were scrapped when it was discovered
that they couldn't even fit the splash screen on a 1541 diskette.

paul,
I really have to agree here. I used 'goal' in CIV2 even after playing it for
a couple of years. It helps you know where you are in the game. I do miss it
in SMAC - although to be fair, the game doesn't have too many shortcomings.
