Does anyone know when is it due out, and what are they going to
improve/fix/update ?

By the way: when can we get the actual patch for the non-US releases? Still
waiting for weeks...

You're probably better off without it. I installed it, and then removed it.
With the patch in place, fast battle resolution no longer seems to work, so
I've got to wait for the animations for every battle, which gets old in a
hurry. The patch also seemed to break diplomacy; at the start of my turn I'd
get 2 messages in a row saying "You've been contacted by <whoever>", but the
only button is Ok, and that doesn't initiate contact. That then upsets the
other leader, who won't return my call.

Those 2 problems are enough to make the original better than the patch for
me... -- Mike

can't confirm that. The patch is really good and till now I haven't detect a
problem made by the patch but a lot of former problems are killed.

The only point is that you have to copy the patch into the SMAC directory before
installing it.

The only gripe I have with 2.0 is that it broke bombing runs and auto
road/tube commands. Helped the speed a lot, though.

If at first you don't succeed, cheat. Cheat until caught, then lie.

I have 2.0 patch and don't have problems with auto road commands.
However, it seems every time I want to do a bombing run I'm told that I
can only bomb enemy targets (or something to that effect) when I am
selecting an enemy target. I never tried 1.0 so I don't know if this is
something I am doing or a problem in the patch.

Auto-Road-To (Ctrl-R) works. Automatic Roads (Ctrl-Shift-R) makes the
former just sit there. Same with tubes. I though I saw other people
report this as well.

UK, French, and German users can now download version 2.0 from

www.firaxis.com

We'll try to get it posted to www.alphacentauri.com as soon as
possible.

Thank you for an excellent game and excellent support.

I would like to really PUSH the idea of a set of screens showing stats for
base by base production, surplus, and use of all resources, sortable by
various parameters for the next patch. I don't even care if they are
ugly...LOL

Playing a game this complex without this information (i.e. just "best base")
really detracts.

Thank you
