'Kay, it sure seems like a beautiful skill, and by now maybe four out of my
six characters actually have it. But the thing is, it almost NEVER works. I
mean, Dragon Spirit, Counter Flood or Sunken State seem to work almost
every time. Counter and Weapon Guard work less often, but they're still
somewhat reliable. Since I first got this skill at the end of Chapter 1
(I'm on Chapter 3 now) I've seen it used ONCE.

What's the point of this skill? Why did I bother spending so much of my
characters' time as Monks to get it?

Dan.

It only seems to work on sword attacks. If you are fighting monsters, it
won't do you any good. I think it is a VERY useful skill to have,
especially when used with Ninjas. They kill any Knight that attacks them
instantly...

I think it works on all weapon-based regular attacks. It won't work on
special attacks, including such things as Choco Attack and Tackle. But if
your chemist has a gun with Hamedo and some archer tries to shoot him/her,
your chemist will counter attack too, so that's kinda kewl. I'm not sure
but I think it might work vs. Charge too.

I have a couple characters with hamedo, but i find that it pales in comparison
to damage split. I have found that hamedo only works on normal attacks, and
only works some of the times. Even a master monk will not "hamedo" all of the
time (or even half of the time). Overall, for the job point cost, it sucks
(Counter is much more useful). It is only useful if you want your characters to
become mimics.
