OK folks. I think we all know that final fantasy games come from Japan...
^_^
In Japanese "nana" means "seven" and "ki" means "Power" (someone's life
energy that can be used to attack or fly like in DBZ)
So we have something like... the seventh power/soul/spirit/life energy?
I dont know much about Japanese so if any of you folks could give more info
on this i'd be grateful.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Japanese folks seem to be really superstitious
with the number 7.
I think this nanaki business definitely has some special meaning to it.
Anyone out there played FF7j?
There is a part where someone (was it Bugenhagen?) tells Red 13 "To us you
will always be Nanaki" or something like that... isn't there?
Listen, I'm no conspiracy theorist and I usually take things at face value
but I think that there absolutely must be some hidden meaning here that I am
not grasping.
What is the real meaning of Nanaki???

It probably has no real meaning. The 'ki' you mentioned is spelt 'chi', btw,
and its literal translation is 'strength from within'.
Also, there are no differences between FF7j and FF7. The bit you mentioned
happens in all versions, when Nanaki is about to leave.

Actually, from his context, I think he meant the term "ki" as in "spirit."
But that's just my reading into it.

Thanks for quoting top and all, btw

Anime smilie and a mention of DBZ in the second sentence in the post. You are
dumb.

"ki" and "chi" are basically the same thing, "Chi" being the Chinese
word and "ki" being the Japanese word. The word is more of a concept
than a meaning, but if you wanted to translate it, things like "spirit"
and "strength within" (as quoted above) are good translations.

Oh really? Thanks for the info! I'll pass it on to the millions of anime
fans in the whole world who use the "^_^" smile and have watched DBZ. I'm
sure they will love to hear that. ROTFL!
Actually I think someone who bothers to make a post with the sole purpose of
annoying someone else is probably in dire need of psychological
counseling. But then again I'm just a dumb otaku so what do I know? ^_^

I agree for the most part, but DBZ has to be the WORST anime I have ever seen.
Whoever made it should be shot.

Well if you asked them, they'd say they do. Because every time they
beat off to an anime character, they count that as having sex with it.

LOL!!!!
Then please tell me... what the hell was I doing all day long with my gf? :)
Dude... get a hint! Can you read? I am Jorge Manuel Alves das Neves Lima...
A Latin name! Latin people dont need to worry about getting laid... we
hardly do anything else!
There's a centuries-old anecdote about the portuguese and the english... it
goes like this:
The English are known for taking a bath every day and screwing their wife
every week.
The Portuguese, on the other hand, are known for screwing their wife every
day and taking a bath every week! LOL! And it was true too... ppl in the
country still dont bathe much around here hehehe... i do take baths... not
as many as I need though. Sex in the summer is awful... so much sweat! You
folks ever sweat so much that you get sweat into your eyes? It burns like
hell!!
I usually just have Ana lick them when that happens :)
