Yes, well, I personally don't have one, but I usually borrow one. Why,
you may ask? To spice up old games. It's good to get General Leo. I
like walking in the clouds in Zeal. And the Crystal Sword is a good
weapon to have early on. If you don't bother to read this, at least
you'll notice this part:

I remember one time when I had a sore throat, I used Game Genie on the Addams Family for
SNES. I had a great time, even if I was cheating.

Okay, here we go again. One - Learn how to spell. Two - Learn how to
take off caps lock. Three - There IS a difference between the comma
and the period. Four - I would bet that most people who use the game
genie to beat the game have beaten it without it. Ask around.
Oh yeah, Five - Rokol's codes let you do new stuff, I don't think he's
ever put out a code that gave you more hitpoints. Just ones to get Leo

Also, Game Genie codes allow for a game to be harder. In fact, more Game Genie
codes make a game harder than make a game easier. And they allow for new
things, like new rooms and worlds in Final Fantasy 2, the walk through walls code,
the Yaith code, the Gunslinger code that allows you to get items dummied out in
Final Fantasy 2. And you can also totally change a few lines of assembly code as
well to fool around. Hexing is fun.

You are probably one of the uninformed people that thinks that Game Genie can
only make games easier. It can do much more than that, it can make games
harder, it can create special effects and "new" areas/players, and allows you to
change a tiny slice of the game code. You can do all sorts of fun stuff. For
example, I changed the dialog boxes in Final Fantasy 3 so they became
transparent by replacing something with LDA #$???? (I forget what it was, some
Mode 7 call). You can do a lot of things like that with it.
If you still think Game Genie "sucks", why not try out codes that make the game
harder once, or ones that create new characters, or making your own codes? You
may change your mind.

if you read carefully you will notice that he feels he would be tempted
to cheat with it all the time. personally I have no problem with the
temptation, because the only person who is really going to be impressed
is myself. If I did use it to cheat I would never know if I was good
enough to win the game without a crutch. I do not think he intended to 'bad
mouth the GG,' but he was simply showing his ignorance about the GG and
about video games. He may think that an easier game is more fun, but tell
that to owners of FFMQ (like me) ::shudders with disgust::
and if he wants to belive that he is having more fun without General Leo
then just let him miss out on all the things that are only possible with GG

Um, could you enlighten me as to where he "badmouthed" Game
Genie? Before you badmouth someone like that again, read their post!
Personally, I would never touch a Game Genie. I don't like
cheating, and Square games don't need to be "spiced up". I also hate
changing games in any way. Call me a purist. I know it's a little
wierd, especially since the American versions of these games are hardly
for purists, but hey, that's me :-)

I agree, after I realized thet the games were BETTER when there was a
challenge I had to have someone hide the GG or else I would totaly distroy
all the challenge of the game. Also I find that watching the ending scene
of the game was much better when I new that I beat the game, not some GG
codes.
