Eh-eh. Cait Sith's moogle may be a bit on the pudgy side, but Reeve? You
wanna see fat, look at Palmer. Look at Heidegger. (actually, I'm sure
you'd rather not ^_^) And let's not forget Reeve was the only Shinra
exec that didn't like the idea of blowing Sector 7 up.

Everyone thinks that Cait Sith/Reeve was a traitor, right? Well, you can't
really blame him for the things he did. It was his job. And wasn't it Edgar
(from FF3) who said, "The Empire may be evil, but not all of it's people
are"? The same may fit in here. Sure, he was overweight, untrustworthy, and
worked for the Shin-Ra, but wasn't Barret also overweight? Didn't Vincent
work for the Shin-Ra once? And Sephiroth...the work trust doesn't even
apply to this man.

Cait sith was a traitor. To Shin-ra and for Shin-ra. He was a basicly good
natured guy who did his job. It's my personally view that he was never ordered
to do anything that challenged his morals-untill he sayed with Cloud and Co.
for awile and realized he had been lied to. Remember- he was fed the garbage
story that avalance had destroyed the pillar-and that they were tring to
destroy the kind and giveing Shin-ra. After he joined up (fully) with Cluods
group he stoped helping Shin-ra and started helping them. If there were anyone
still doubting his loyalty- well it is kinda hard to trust a traiter- especally
after he has betrayed everyone- the bad guys and the good guys. oh- and about
the "It was his job" thing, he did he job as he thought it was for the good of
all. later- when he swiched sides, he only kept up the illusion of being a
shin-ra helper to assist Cloud and Co. Now if you want doing so called 'evil'
deeds and knowing full well you are doing it- talk to the turks.

Cait Sith/Reeve /did/ know about the pillar thing. Remember when President
Shinra told Reeve to take a vacation? That was becaused he was so stressed
over the pillar falling.

Cait Sith/Reeve is one of those guys who start out evil but then realize the
error of their ways and BECOME good. Examples of ex-bad guys turned good
guys include: General Leo, Cait Sith/Reeve, Cecil (Kain doesn't count cuz
he was under a spell, Cecil robbed Mysidia WILLINGLY), and more.

He did, he got crused into the Black Materia. He came back though. *smirk*

Anyway, if he's still a bad guy, then why is he fighting on your side? The
only reason he took Marlene hostage is so that they wouldn't attack him
after he stole the Keystone. I really doubt he's holding Marlene so that
they don't attack him all the way till the end of the game. Besides,
Marlene and Aeris's mom moved to "a safe place". If YOUR party can find
them, then Sephiroth certainly could, so it wouldn't be safe now would it?

Look, unless Cloud has roughly the IQ of a Spice Girl, he'd know if Cait
Sith could be trusted. And I don't believe Marlene is still being held
captive. Just look at the ending, she's in some house (I don't know where,
it's probably the "Safe Place" somewhere, but it IS in Midgar) Marlene is
there, she's the one that looks out the window and says "The Flower Girl?"
And if you don't think that looks like her, all I can say is...well, the FMV
Graphics are TERRIBLE in the Ending. Just look at Cait Sith and Red XIII,
Barret, and Cid.

Barret cared about Midgar, it was Red XIII who didn't. Take this exhert

BARRET: Wait just a damn minute!!! What's gonna happen to Midgar!?
RED XIII: Meteor is approacing the Earth. Holy is having the opposite
effect.... Forget Midgar. We have to worry about the planet

>(I'm right, and you're wrong. He deserves to die.)

He did. Not only when he got the Black Materia, but in the ending the only
survivors were Red XIII...and a female whatever Red XIII is (without her,
how could the "Red XIII-ites" survive until that "500 years later" scene?
*smirk*)

Oh, one last note. If you think Cait Sith/Reeve is a jerk, beat FF Tactics

Yeh Cait Sith is a good guy, he felt bad aboud the falling of the plate, and
was the only one opposing it, he felt he owed Cloud and the others by
sacrificing himself for the Black Materia, AND he did take Marlene to a safe
house in Kalm!!!, where she was safe - of course. And Barrett knew this and
was happy with it. I reckon he was a good guy cause he kept tabs on the
Shinra as well....

Red XIII was thinking of Midgar, but he was the one who stated that not only
Midgar was going to be destroyed, instead the whole planet was going to die.
So he was more worried about the total brunt of things - and not one city.
Also RedXIII is only about 7 in Cat yrs (don't ask 8) ) so he was still
young, and lived for the next 500 yrs - what i find interesting is I thought
RedXIII was the last of his kind!!!

He was in Midgar so he could spy on Shinra and help your group kick their
butts. He (as Cait Sith) even punched out Scarlet during that "Public
Execution", remember? He wanted to get back at them. As you may recall, he
was really hesitant about that whole plot to take out the column, and
disapproved of not rebuilding it in favor of the "Neo-Midgar Plan".

I never said that I blame Red XIII for wanting Marlene's butt blown up by
Meteor (had I been him, I would've wanted it too *Smirk*) Oh, BTW, Cait
Sith looks more like a cat than Red XIII does.

I never said that Cloud and the other would be alive 500 years later.
Besides, the human race was wiped out by a combo effect of
Meteor/Holy/Lifestream, remember? What I said was, that Red XIII and a
female
"Red XIII-ite" survived, or else how could the race still be around 500
years later? It takes two to reproduce, you know.

True, but if he actually WAS a bad guy, still working for Shinra, as you
claim, he'd supress the urge and instead help her out.

Well, he's gotta watch HIS neck too ya know. He does this stuff so he
doesn't lose his job, and as a result, so he can still spy on Shinra. If he
didn't care about spying on them (and therefore, having to keep his positon)
he'd just run out and join you outright instead of sending a gay little

If they got that treatment, they'd be DEAD (unless they were immortal) and
they're all DEAD now, remember? Had the human race survived, they wouldn't
have let Midgar get all overgrown with Moss and everything. The laughing

Well, the definition of Holy's power was to "destroy all threats to the
planet". Think about it. The humans were all hooked up to Mako Reactors.
The "Nanakites" were not.

If they wanted it to grow pretty, you'd think they would just take down the
whole city, rather than leaving it in ruins. Besides, not many people think
moss is pretty. *smirk*

Marlene wasn't being "held captive" up 'till the last battle, she was being "kept
somewhere safe." Would you want to bring your daughter into the center of the
earth?

And another thing... when Diamond Weapon (I think that's the one) blew away the

< Yeah, but Barret didn't know where this "somewhere safe" was, implying

<"in captivity."

Barret could've asked, you know, and I'm sure Cait Sith would've been glad
to let him know, but he didn't, he just left it at Cait Sith's explanation
of "Marlene is not in Midgar. She's safe. She's with Aeris's Mama." (And
this conversation took place right as Diamond WEAPON was attacking Midgar,
so no, that can't mean that Reeve kidnapped Aeris's Mom. as well.. Go back
and play that part again, trust me, Barret never asked where this "Somewhere
safe" was.

<Depends on whether she went and got herself preggers before she was
<married. I dunno if I'd bury her, but I might just tan her slutty lil'

<near the way Yuffie does with a strength of 150, I'd definitely want
daddy's

What?

<Heidegger, Scarlet, the Turks (who are into kidnapping, btw), and Reeve.
<Maybe Hojo too, since he's into that kinky bestiality sex thing, trying to
<get Red XIII to boink Aeris...

Yeah, that was pretty sick, wasn't it? But all that was left in the Last
Battle (which you claim Marlene was held captive until then) would be Reeve
and the Turks (minus Tseng). Well, actually, after you kicked the Turks'
butts in Midgar, they fled to some unknown area, so it'd just be Reeve, and
Reeve is busy controlling Cait Sith, so he can't keep an eye on Marlene, so
how could she still be in captivity? She's actually in Kalm, as someone
pointed out, you can look out that same window that she did in the ending.

Are you sure about this? I just figured Hojo was going to merge them in
much
the same way he made the monsters in the Nibleheim reactor.

Hojo himself said he was going to mate them.

You know, I think they just did a crappy job of illustrating what
happened to Marlene. I didn't even remember she existed for awhile, and
in the end, I didn't figure out it was her in the window till I was
beating it a second time to show a friend the graphics...

Barret sucks, but so does Cid.

<You heard me.

Yeah, but it didn't make any sense.

<Dunno. I'm not a Nanakistein. He might be a handsome devil for all

<I know...

I was referring to Hojo's attempt at Breeding Aeris and Red XIII, which you
yourself said was sick as well.

<Someone? I said that about the window. I am NOT relying on your powers

OK, then, like I said, Reeve is still in Midgar, Marlene is in Kalm. How
could he be holding her captive? There weren't any of those Shinra Footmen
around either.

<Nah, Cid's cool...until you find something bad to say about him that
<makes good sense, and then I'll kill him too and use Red XIII. Actually,
<you still like Cait Sith. I shouldn't even be listening to you...

Well, for one thing, he hates you, for another, he hates Shera, and for
another, he's even worse than Barret languagewise. (Now sit your @$$es down
and drink your MOG-DAMN *TEA*!!!)

<I make perfect sense. You're just not keeping up with my train of
<thought.

Whatever.

<I was playing Devil's Advocate, and from the looks of it, Red XIII's not

<going to be getting any for a few centuries...poor sap.

Yeah, I'd hate to be him.

<Hey, he could carry
<on a decent conversation at least, and most girls say they like that in a
<guy, and Yuffie...she had a thing for him.

Yeah, but as far as *I'M* concerned, I'd rather go out and #$!@# a cactus
(Ouch!) then date Yuffie.

<Heck, look at all the ladies
<that were hanging around Hojo on the beach. It's a fact. Girls are into
<pervy guys.

Are you saying Red XIII's a "Pervy Guy"? It's not like he tried to advance
on anyone in the game, except when he was in the test tube with Aeris and
that didn't count because he was "merely trying to throw Hojo off guard" and
hey, it worked.

<Look at all the notoriety "9 1/2 Weeks" got...or try paging
<through a cheap romance novel. Phew! Talk about *naughty*...

Who reads those things?

<Just proves that Reeve was still working with the Shinra. They could've
<had soldiers posted downstairs. What's the little squirt gonna do? Jump
<out the window? Besides, Marlene's only four. She's not gonna pack up and
<leave town.

She was with Aeris's Mom, remember?

<Another thing to consider: How was Reeve controlling Cait Sith
<when Heidegger and Scarlet had him arrested and hauled away?

Well, it had to happen SOMEHOW or else how could you still use Cait Sith
during that time? Besides, he's got some sort of control rigged to his suit
or something. Notice how it shows him flailing his arms and such during the
meeting, and he talked into his cufflink or something (if anyone still wears
those...that would make more sense if I said "where a cufflink would
ususally go") to relay messages to Cloud.
