I'm at the raiders camp tryin to save tandi whos locked in a cage. I talk to
garl and attempt to fight him in a fist fight in a ring but he always wins.
im hp= 55/55 st=10 pe=04 en=09 in=04 ag=07 and lk=04. I try to lockpick the
door but it doesnt work. My skills probably too low.
I hav ian with me and i can only think the best way is to kill all the
raiders and garl. Ive been luky once and killed garl but ian gets killed and
i slowly waste away. Is there a way to get Tandi that doesnt envolve
fighting because i dont think im up to it. At the mo i dont hav any stim
paks!!!! GIVE ME A STRAGEY PLEASE THIS IS ANNOYIN ME.

I think there're many ways to save Tandi, but seems all of them are out of
your reach...

1. Intelligence and Charisma. Talk them into releasing Tandi: Pretend you're
a bad guy and want to take Tandi away to have some fun, then take Tandi and
leave immediately. Don't talk to Raiders again.

2. Fight. Fight all of them, or one-on-one: Use dialog to initiate the
fight. I think I have tried to launch a sudden attack, but then Tandi was
hostile too. Also your perception is too low - this will make you miss a
lot.

3. Lock Pick. Pick the prison cell's lock, and get Tandi out. But you still
have to fight this way, though you will have Tandi on your side.

4. Garl's Father. I don't remember how I did this, but in one of my many
times through, the raiders and Garl thought I am Garl's father, which is
dead long ago. They thought I'm a ghost and let me take Tandi away. If I
talk to them again, however, they will start fighting. So just grab Tandi
and leave.

As far as I remember there is no need to rescue Tandi in a defined
period of time. I think you could just wander a bit aroud Wasteland,
solve some other quests, gain experience points (and improve skills),
loot or buy better weapons and armours... and then come back to raiders
and make 'em a little surprise.

I am playing FO1 again right now and have rescued Tandi without a
problem by blowing bastards sky high with a few grenades and Assault
Rifle. No casualties on my side...

I had trouble with the raiders first time I played too, so I left them alone
for a while... tandi can wait.

Well, no. I mean yes. ;)
You cannot increase the basic stats during the game while you gain
experience.
BUT there are places and events where those stats are increased. I do
not want to spoil you the fun. You'll just know when it happens.

There is no way to tinker with your main stats so early. You can use drugs
to boost them temporarily, and some armor will affect it too. Only later
will you have an opportunity to upgrade, and the upgrades are not
world-shaking, though expensive.

As for now: Forget about it. Learn to deal with it...you just can't make a
char that can do everything. That's what they call replayability factor.
