dark elfs

I'm a leve 12 Dark Elf Wizard and I would like to know why they are
hated by a good amount of npcs. What's the history on the race. I love the
race and enjoy playing my elf, but I would still like to know what they have
done in Everquest's history.

Queen and slowly tore them apart both physically and mentally over three
hundred years. then he took what was left and reforged them into Teir'Dal
(dark elves). I'd say that's a pretty good reason for most of the good races
to hate them.

Why is that a good reason? It's not like the dark
elves themselves tortured the king and queen or anything
(and I thought it was for "only" a hundred years).
That's sort of like hating a baby because its father
raped its mother, seems to me. Now, I could see the
High elves getting all huffy because the DE's tend to
worship the god that did this.
