You can buff your hitpoints way up then use the manastone to move them
all into mana. Then you use complete heal and do it again til your mana
is close to full and meditate the rest. It reduces the meditation time
quite a bit. I doubt this is why it was changed, but it is a neat
trick.

Well one thing I can say they're used for is with the regeneration
spell (at least thats what I use it with). Regen is particularly
mana efficient so regen effectively gives you an emergency mana
store. Now I'm just hanging out for level 44 to get chrlotoplast.
Now THAT will be sweet. :-)
