Notes:

I have confirmed most of these.

It looks like most cities don't have foraged specials.
I foraged for a long time and never found anything in Rivervale.
However, Halas does. Wouldn't it be funny if a quest
needed food foraged from Neriak?

Dungeons seem rather barren as well. With one exception
again, that being Mistmoore.

Doesn't is seem like the Ocean of tears and the
Oasis of Marr have their food switched? Coding error?

If you have any additions or corrections
please post them.

Thanks

It's a joke in questionable taste...the Ocean of Tears is where the
Sisters of Erolissi live.

Has anyone found a USE for any of these damn things, other than selling to
vendors or taking up space in your inventory? My bank space is starting to
get clogged!

There are actually three zones in Neriak:

Neriak - Foreign Quarter
Neriak - Commons
Neriak - 3rd Gate

I remember reading about a 4th zone somewhere, but I haven't found it. And
no, I haven't foraged there with my ranger character, figuring that in the
case of taking my Wood Elf into Neriak, that disgression was definitely the
better part of valor. :)

Weird, I have 84 forage now on a 17 level
druid wood elf. When do I get specials?
To the best of my knowledge I never have, only getting
fruit, berries, vegetables, rabbit meat, water pod, and roots
and what ever other common i forgot.

What skill do you need to get the more rare special?
What use do those have when you get them?
I've heard of no items or quests requiring a special forage.
I know ive seen cinnamon sticks ONCE at the bottom
of a vendors inven, does that mean you can sell the special to
a vendor?
Curious,

Current wisdom is that your skill has to be above 100 to get the
special items.

Currently there doesn't seem to be anything special to do with them.
A lot of people are speculating that there will be some new baking
recipies in the next few patches.

Yes, they sell to merchants for about 1g2s, which can be a pretty
decent money maker for rangers. If you hang out in the Karanas, the
merchants there are almost overflowing with the stuff. I keep almost
all of mine, although its really taking up a lot of room in my bank
account.

I have foraged a few of the new items, and the nice thing is you can sell
them for over 1gp to npc merchants.

Hum...I've gotten Ash root, and a couple of the other "special"
forage items (not very often, but more often in some zones than
others) at Forage skill of below 80.

from what ive seen, higher skill just means you forage sucessfully more
often (which could up the chance that you get something special).. ..

my Forage is over 100 (MASTER!) and i have foraged some lettuce stuff like 2
times, and a Mushroom thing once.. (oh, and i got some Rathe Berries twice)

Well, I just said it was the current wisdom. I didn't say it was
right. :)
