Level 34 is approaching fast for my shaman and I was wondering if pets and
befriended animals obey all of the pet commands.

Thanks.

Befriended animals obey all commands except /pet get lost as far as I
can tell. I do not know about the shaman pets.

/pet get lost doesn't work for shaman pets, you need to Invis yourself.

But with hte *heavy* mana cost, Shamans don't really get the luxury of
continually summoning pets like the other classes do until they get a "good
one".

The /pet get lost command does work for Shaman pets. You just have to
be within the normal pet command area. If you want to kill a pet that
has gone AWOL, you still have to invis.

And the correct syntax is "/pet get lost"

Weird, I have tried it - with pet in range. I'll have to try again.

Whats this all about? The 39 necro pet uses 390 mana and 2 bone chips while
the 39 shaman pet uses 400 mana and no reagent whatsoever. Necros at least
are much more restricted due to the need for reagents.. I'll take the 10
extra mana anytime.

The one great thing about the shaman pet though is that
you get it at level 34, and it is around level 25 for your first
pet. This pretty much means that you don't have to recast it.

For one thing by level 34 the shaman is used to running
around fighting stuff outdoors trying to pitifully solo
like a screaming mimi anyway. Any pet would seem
great. My friend just got 34 and their pet cons
blue to my level 29. We tested it really quick with the
two of us on a corrupt guard that was yellow to me
and blue to the shaman, the pet just made killing it so
easy and fast. All the shaman did was quicken
and dex the pet and since the mob was pursuing the
shaman and me the pet just tore it apart without getting hurt
much.

So unlike the necro, which has depended upon the pet
to get to 34 and still does, the shaman got to 34 without
one and suddenly has a level 25 or so one - bonus
no matter what the variance is.

Of course you could as easily phrase this :-

"So unlike the necro, who has flown up the levels thanks to their
exploitable pet from the start, the shaman struggles to 34 without this part
of the class and finally becomes viable at 34 or so - but still hasn't
caught up because of the huge exploit with necro pets"

...depending on your point of view.

Hm...I'm also close to 34 ...less than a bubble now :), and really looking
forward to getting a pet (as well as a new DoT and DD). Anyone know a
website listing the pet commands? Also, I'm curious...does the pet really
make a huge difference...will I suddenly be able to solo low level cycs for
instance? Is the pet only outdoors, or can I cast it indoors. Will I be
able to play my shaman as more than a healer/buffer on occaison (if my
regular group isn't on it'd be nice to be able to solo something other than
avos). Thanks
