Drops in Kael

guild that I was interesting in joining. Well, all went great, I got my
guild invite and had a great time at the raid. The next day we even did
Chardok king & queen and all was successful. Now, my new question is, can
the Thurg quest armor drop from the giants on the way to the arena? There
is about a dozen giants on the way there that are green/light blue to me so
would be easy to do by myself or even better with my brother's warrior to
partner with. I'd like to get some of this armor for myself without having
to drag a whole raid there. Any ideas?

Yes, there are a few around the bank area that will drop the armor.

They arent green to a level 51 though...
If your looking for armour from the bank mobs, to have any realistic chance
(Im pretty sure the only chance, too) you have to kill the luitenants. They
can pop anywhere in the bank area if you kill regular giants. Luitenants
are high blue to me at level 60 though.
The first see invis guards I have never ever seen drop armour (or any other
"guard_xxx" and "senior_guard_xxx") but the rest of the arena has a chance
of it. Basically the higher the mob, the better the chance of a piece
(Veterans are a good source)
Some have different loot tables though, such as the gladiators inside the
arena building (and Vindi/Statue etc)

Most, if not all of the bank area mobs are blue at 60. All of them can
drop armor. (the drop rate is truly horrid though, even for Kael.)
None of the level 30 - 40 giants on the way to the bank area (from either
side) will drop armor though.

I've had the lesser see invis guards drop armor. Only a few times though...
as I said, they seem to have the least chance... and even in the arena
fighting the Veterans, drop rates are pretty poor.

Ok, so it seems out of my reach to solo for armor but how hard would it be
for a 51 Shaman and a 51 Warrior to find a group easily for the sole reason
of getting armor upgrades?
Also, I can get a 48 Druid, 47 Wizard and a 47 Warrior to help but not all
of the time. Would we be able to do some parts of the arena alone? Maybe
with a Cleric?

Only way to know that is to check. It varies by server to server. On
E'ci, there are public and semi-public arena raid / armor farms that you
would probably be able to join. I'm not sure if Prexus has anything
similar.

With that group, not a chance. The Protectors of Zek, which have the best
chances of dropping armor, are level 58. Veterans, which drop it decently,
are high 50's... around 56 or so. Most will enrage prior to death.
A good, balanced group of 55 - 60 can do parts of the arena that drop armor.
(I think even they would choke on the PoZ's) Mostly though, you're looking
at multi group armor farming "raids."
And I'd be wary of any armor farming raid that suggests taking on the
Vindicator ; ) I wasn't entirely serious about farming him : P (Although
some bastages can do him with 18 people and only 3 (botted) clerics, he'll
usually hand multiple groups of level 60's their collective asses.)
With the group you listed, you *might* be able to do the bank area, which
drops armor very, very, very rarely.

That group of five won't make it past the see invis guards. You'll never
even see the arena. Might do ok at bank, though, and hope for the best.
Of course, I never tried bank with five characters that low. You may get
smoked there too. Live and learn. errr..... die and learn.

Pozs are not that hard once you get over the ick factor :p That whole arena
area was being farmed for armor a week after velious opened and is no doubt
why the drop rate is so low now.
A balanced 55-60 group is fine for the area . What you cant have is multiple
adds so pull carefully. A druid/mage team pulling with snare coh works
great, or a monk who is always laying down and a tagger will work.
The sad part is that the armor really isnt that good though. Useless for
monks and and casters. Will be upgraded quickly even on clerics and tanks if
you raid just a little.

Id say only 1/4 to half of all bank pops (outside the bank) are solid blue
to me at 60.
Having spent MANY hours exping in kael I refuse to believe anything other
than luitenants at the bank will drop armour, but thats because of the
absolutely shitty drop-rates, not because its not on their loot tables

lol yeah. I hear AoW is a good mob to pharm too, if you want more variation
than boots/bp :)

Look for smaller guilds scheduled raids, and ask if you can join them.

Ah I see your on Prexus. Im not really clued up on smaller guilds anymore
so might miss some... but guilds you could possibly raid with in kael (if
you speak with them first) -

I guess it depends on the guild/people doing it. Last time I did a manor
farming session and let random people come, I had a channel called
(something like) tweekasux.. tweeka obviously being one of my friends there
:)

A well balanced group of 60's wouldn't choke on Prots (PoZ as you call
them).
When i was in my arena farming stage (I exped there pretty much every day
for a few weeks straight), there was "me" 60monk, 60 cleric, 60 shaman, and
a friend, 60 monk.
So 4 characters (albeit 3 ran by me) and we could keep the entire "outside"
clear, and the 3 Prots inside the door, and the 2 named down each ramp in
there (where Vealok the angry spawns, and the Gladiator, and
xxx_cold_whatever pops)
Being monks we rarely double pulled.. maybe twice in the course of the day..
but the double pulls (its a weird bug) were always Vealok the angry, and a
Prot. We often had a mob pop on us while in battle, but we never once
wiped there.

haha. the same bastages who've done PoF twice since saturday, and both have
resulted in a c.r.
i got home saturday and logged on (pretty drunk.. well a lot drunk) and in
thinking the broken golem was up (a guildies last epic part) had took a few
groups to check it out.
they brutally mass wiped, they tried to break it naked and died again, and
again... a shitload of unrezzable corpses etc. i got with 5 others (all
dressed and alive) and we broke pof. I was informed id logged on something
like 5 hours after the CR started. ouch.
Last night, this time the golem was up. Sat at the portal as everybody
buffed, my cable modem died. 10 mins later I get back on.. they had wiped
again lol. They had taken several low level people in with them (from a
guild that was forming for pof when we moved in) so I think that was a key
reason this time... but even so!
We managed to scrape a group together of people that were still dressed (it
was an aborted break-in so some (very few) had managed to gate/evac) and we
did a ww break in again and rezzed them all in. Wasn't bad like Saturday..
but I get the feeling we won't be hitting Cazic again anytime soon :p

I did kael bank every day for a week, with *zero* loot drops. One day a
shaman friend was passing through the bank 10 mins after id left, and saw a
luitenant. He solod him.. leather fucking BP! /sigh (This was about 4
months before I finally got one to drop.. about 8 months after id started
for one)
