Gnome Necro question

I had to have someone I trusted buy it for me... I reported it to gms and
its being looked into right now (missing spells, specially for gnomes necro
who can't buy from anyone else).

I think I bought it at same location, or one room over from the guild.

OTOH, I suggest dropping it and start darkelf or magician.

Your trainer is in a secret room off of a central room. In that central
room one of the merchants sells the GATE spell. You'll have to get
someone else to buy it for you. I just offered a guy a 1g fee and he
bought it for me.

What's the advantage of dark elves Necro over Gnomes except the fact that
they are better accepted in their cities? I have one gnome Necro and had no
problem starting it (except for those spells missing from the necro guild).
In Freeport, I was pleasantly surprised to see I wasn't KOS by guards and
'most' vendors (some are a bit overzealous :).. Are Dark Elves Necros
accepted in Freeport or are they KOS? If they are KOS, than I'd say that
Gnomes are a bit easier than Dark Elves when one wishes to travel abroad..

Btw, this is a IMHO of course ;)

much only 2 in all of faydwer.

All but one vendor (except the Necro's Guild vendors) in Ak'Anon won't sell
to Gnomes Necromancers.. And those necros are KOS in most of that continent
by guards and probably vendors as well.. I finally made it to Freeport and
found out I'm not KOS there (Guess they're more cosmopolitan than other
cities) and I could buy food/water from many vendors there ... I haven't
tried to buy spells from other guilds tho... I don't think I can but I'll
try anyways... It'd be great tho.

Hint: Any class can read any other class' duplicate spell. I play a
6th Level necro that had problems finding a Gate spell. Guess what?
The Lodge of the Dead (aka Necro Guild) didn't have one in stock. So
I went to the cleric guild and found someone selling a Gate scroll. I
Held-Right-Click on it and, guess what? Necromancers can use the same
scroll according to the description. So, I bought the spell and
scribed it on the spot.

Bottom line: There are no class destinctions for spells of the same
name. If you Hold-Right-Click over the scroll, you can determine if
that scroll is usable by you or not, regardless of where you buy it.

I did the exact same thing.. worked like a charm!
