Yes, I've already checked Allakhazams, Everlore, etc. No luck.

These are for the new Qeynos-area newbie armor quests.
I've almost completed a set of Pine Scout Armor on Stormhammer (not that I
need it)...freaking Giant Field Rat Whiskers are about as rare as Shattered
Emeralds of Corruption.

Goodness. Do the local Surefall druids get some?

Yes, though I don't know what it's called. All Qeynos classes have
quests, though I hear some of them are bugged.
Unfortunately though, Druids need at least as many of the accursed Giant
Field Rat Whiskers as Rangers, maybe more.
I've killed 73 of the bastards and gotten ONE whisker...Rangers need five
for a full suit.

Qeynos quests are in, Erudin has not been done yet. (Erudin and Tox need
a *lot* more work than these quests....)

Even my mommie calls me "geeky."
There's a load of new drops everywhere as far as I can see. Orcs have
suddenly started dropping bricks of iron ore as a matter of routine. And is
it just my imagination or have things been renamed a lot? Instead of "bat"
we get myotis bat, whiskered bat, and so on. Now rather than simple snakes
we have gopher snakes, grass snakes, thingummy snakes and whosit snakes...
Have these things been around all the time and I've just never seen them
before?

Where did you find 73 of those damned Giant Field Rats? I have been
running around Qeynos Hills for hours and have only found a handfull..
Oh and us Rangers and druids also have to share the Giant Field Rats
with the necromancers.. I don't mind that the rats are rare but when 3
classes need them for the quest then I think that it is a bit strange
that they don't drop the pelt and whiskers some more often..

Rangers just track the suckers down. Druids have to wait til level 20 I
think. Necros, well, find someone that can track.

I've just started doing the quests for the Pine Scout armor. Ran
around Qeynos Hills all day today and have yet to find one Giant Field
Rat.
And now for some questions:
What kind of Gnolls drop the Gnoll Chain armor used for each piece? I
killed the watchers and the regular Gnolls outside of Blackburrow for
a few hours with no luck. I can clear the first floor and part of the
second floor of Blackburrow with little trouble, but I still haven't
found any pieces of the Gnoll Chain armor. With nothing but farmers
and bored high levels in there, I'm afraid to journey any deeper in
without a group and risk a potentially messy CR.

Has anyone else noticed that as soon as you zone into Everfrost from
Blackburrow, the tunnel is COMPLETELY BLACK!? Not even turning up the
Gamma in-game and the brightness on my monitor to max produces any
sort of guidance. I have a firebeetle eye in my offhand, but it makes
no noticable difference. Damn these human eyes if I have to run across
the continent to kill a few spiderlings, then run back to complete the
armor quests. Are there any other MOBs around the Qeynos area, other
than spiderlings, that drop spiderling silk? (Sewers, Wesk Karana,
etc...)
</minirant>
What are the stats on the armor? (if any) Would it still be viable to
purchase player-made Banded armor later on?
OT, but:
Someone in /ooc said the Gnolls in Blackburrow killed him to make
Barbarian steaks. Anyone know if recipies exist for the different
"racial meats" you can get by killing halflings, dwarves, elves,
etc...
Rock on all, and thanks in advance for any feedback.

At L15 the Pine Bark (or whatever the Druid stuff is called) is just
good enough to be worth trying for, at L20 might not be worth the
effort except for one or two pieces. Even at L15 it's a pain since
the Ruined Gnoll Leather pieces all seem to drop off mobs green to
me so I have to follow lower levels around PL'ing them (on FV, TLC
dontcha know) to get my drops.
Oh, and Dennis, Druids need 6 of those damned whiskers, but I'm gonna
skip two since I seriously doubt the gloves are any better than the
Splitpaw Gloves I already own. My biggest bitch with the Druid stuff
(on FV) is the LORE piece off a ridiculously green mob that I
mentioned in another post.

I have gotten three pieces of the chain off gnoll guardsman (not the
elites, killed several of those with no drops of any kind). I keep
hoping a guardsman will drop a piece of leather, since somebody else
claimed to have gotten a piece of chain off a patrolling gnoll, which
drop the leather (all green to me, oh the joys of TLC).

Got leather drops off the gnolls on the way up to the elite ledge.
Picked up several chain pieces from gnolls up on the surface after a
train and gave them to a level 6 ranger. Don't recall what kind of
gnoll dropped the chain as it was rather hectic with the train.
