Why did they nerf the Gloomwater Harpoon for a Shaman piercing weapon?????

Jesus Christ i love this game but damn theyre making it more difficult
to like with idiotic moves like that. Since when did shaman use
piercing???!!!

Shaman have always had piercing skill. Verant envisioned Shaman using spears
from day one, but unfortunately forgot to make spears equipable to them.

For a long time the only peircing weapon available was a bronze main gauche!
This was addressed in a recent patch when several shaman only spears were
introduced.

I haven't seen the rest of the thread, but I assume you are reffering to the
fact that the Fierce Impaler now drops a Darksea harpoon? From other sources
it appears that the Gloomwater is still the common drop, but the cloak has
been replaced with the Darksea.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I assume you're referring to the shaman-only darksea harpoon, which at 10/28 is
better than any non-plane/god/boss piercing weapon usable by rogues.

The answer is... shamen don't get dualwield or doubleattack, and we can't
backstab. So it doesn't really matter, does it?

If you're referring to the gloomwater harpoon being shaman-usable, well, tough
boogers. Shamen can use spears now.

Shamans have always been able to use spears, you just never see them using
one very much not with RTS and Glowing Crooks a dime a dozen.

Shaman have had the piercing skill since opening day last year, and
probably before this going into beta.

What they didn't have before were weapons to use with the skill. Last
couple of patches have changed this.

definately improved this, some very VERY nice spears are appearing (i want to
go to plane of sky just for that +15 wis spear i heard about... /drool).
