The Nek Forest has always been a hidden treasure for me, for the awkward
levels of 5-9. My monk spawned there when the world finally came back up for
me. It didn't take long for me to notice that things had changed. There were
Orcs at was formally the halfling camp along the south wall nearest to the
commons zone. There were calcified, halfling, and leatherfoot skeletons
wandering about. New types of spiders and snakes to the area also seemed
plentiful. At first I wondered if there were some sort of GM event going on.
But the sky wasn't red, and nobody in /ooc or /shout noticed an event if one
were going on. I think the MoB table for NF has been revamped. This place
would now make decent hunting to perhaps 11. And several of the new MoBs carry
no-drop items that they seem to have no shortage of, making me think that there
are new quests added.
Things seemed normal in both the Commons, for what little time I spent in
them. Befallen seemed the same as before the patch. Anyone notice any
seriously different MoBs in any other zones?

There were new quests added. While I was in the Neraik Cleric guild last
night looking for my new 34 rez spell, I ran into a new high priest quest
NPC. It seems they have ut in some low level cleric armor quests. Initiate
Armor, IIRC. You get a box and a mold from her, fill the box with the
appropriate components for the piece you want, and combine to get some sort
of metal. Take the metal and an enchanted mold that you get from her and
put it in a forge. I don't realy know much more except for what I got from
the quest text. It also seemed like the text was geared towards teaching
about quest text and key phrases, because at one point she said "For
example, if you wanted to make the breastplate, you would say to me "I want
make the initiate breastplate"" or something to that effect.

Don't know if there is this type of thing set up for other classes / races
or not, but would be interesting to find out.

So far I've seen new Neriak SK and Warr armour/weapons showing up on
Allakhazams... and they're not bad for lowbie quests... slightly better
rewards than the Cabilis stuff for Ikkies of the same level.

With any luck, this is part of the 'making it easier for new players' and
will be rolled out to all the newbie towns... of course the downside is that
not even newbies are gonna want Banded or Bronze armour once this stuff gets
common.

There is also cleric armor in Neriak, looks to be new, as the drops are off
mobs that I had not seen in Neriak previously.
