I can't wait to start messing around to add pictures. :-) Anyone else
have their main set up there?
James
It *is* cool. See the sig for every post of mine... =D

Thanks, too bad it means I'm dead last on the list for upgrade pendants
in Western Wastes. :-/ I love your gauntlets - THAT is a unique item! I
still have to add in my "bag of junk" bag with my Silvery Mask, Disciple's
Symbol of Brell Serilis, etc. and the latest toy, Murph's Mining Pick (10/26
CLR-usable 1HS, dwarf only, rather unique graphic). 25 plat off the vendor,
can't beat that! :-)

So my question on Magelo is this, has it been proven beyond reasonable doubt
that it,
does not send information to the database that is of danger to your
account's integrity
(IE: sending password and account name) and since it seems to tap into the
datastream to
build database info, is it bannable and/or detectable by VI??

I signed up for a Magelo account, but I'm holding on on running the
software until I'm satisfied of this too.
(apart from the fact that I can't get the Magelo website to work under
any of my Linux browsers. Bah)

Well, you dont have to run their program to use the site, so I dont
really see a problem. I never used the program, but love the possibility
of making easy online profiles.

It's probably because of my screen size and security settings (no
activeX and such since that stuff annoys me), but magelo profiles have
never, ever looked good or shown any useful info on my computer. Best
case is I get images of how someone's items look in their inventory
and some text about their stats scribbled over these images, and no
way to see what item the images actually depict. So, I won't be making
a profile myself.

When it starts working with Netscape, I'll consider it.

Speaking of which, anyone know where I could store a few pics on the web

- speaking for myself, not my employer
Not sure about the background of the Magelo stuff and what it's issues are
but as someone who has put together a few very basic web pages by first
making html skeletons in notepad, then "prettifying" in Dreamweaver 3 and/or
4 I learned to dislike Netscape with a vengeance. I had no problems with how
they came out in Opera though.
I wasn't doing anything odd either - all the layout was just done with plain
old ordinary tables using the KISS principul. No frames, no style sheets,
not even the slightest hint of DHTML. A page would be done in a day and
tested with IE and Opera and maybe a few tweaks needed. Then I would spend
the next week or so of spare time trying to figure out and work around what
the hell Netscape was trying to something as simple as tables within tables
within tables.
In the end since the pages were unofficial and mainly for my own use, a few
friends and colleagues - I broke the KISS principul and used browser
detection javascript to get around it. Netscape users got their own text
page to veiw whilst everyone else got the site as intended. The text?
"Netscape and me do not get along but I have no problem with that. This page
can be veiwed as intended with either IE or Opera. Knowing the solution, if
you have still have a problem with this then please do not make the
presumption to think that this is something that should warrant my
attention."
One rabid Netscape defender (They are like Mac'ites) person took exception
but when he called I just said "Netscape 6.0" and we both ended up laughing
it off.
: )
I love Magelo. See .sig.
