I was running my non-twinked and newly dinged 31
Ogre Warrior through E Commons yesterday and I
decided to stop and play around a bit. I ran up
to a Kodiak and hit the auto-attack. A quick hit
and a double hit later the Kodiak began to turn
away and I finished him off without a scratch. I
think it was at that point that I realized just
how far I had come in the game. I remember the
first time I peeked into that zone seeing four or
five Kodiaks going up a hill and trembling in fear
at the though of so many "high level" creatures in
on place. The gate guards are conning yellow to
me, I never would have imagined.

Not long after I was camping the throne room in
Cazic and the mobs were dropping so many fine
steel weapons that we were all encumbred and were
just letting the stuff lay there. For some reason
I remembered back when I was a newbie and saving
up 70pp to buy a fine steel morningstar from a
vendor in Quenos. Back then who would have
thought I'd leave fine steel on the ground because
it was more important to fight than loot. On my
way to sell I handed a lvl 4 Ogre Shaman a fine
steel morningstar just for kicks.

I guess there will come a day when I venture
through Rathe Mountains and decide to knock off a
Hill Giant just for fun and a quick 40pp but that
seems far off. I'm really starting to enjoy the
game. Stop every now and then and look back. Go
to your newbie zone and terrorize the mobs that
killed you at level 1-5. I love seeing <You hit
lizzard man watcher for 147 points of damage, you
have slain lizzard man watcher>

Having fun.

Ha! a nice anecdote.
I did the same thing on a smaller level the other day as I was doing a run
to Queynos I stopped and terrorised the mobs there, killing most with one
swipe. It was truly gratifying. I soloed the Klicknic Queen in 3 seconds, I
remember the day when her spawn would send droves of us newbies running in
fear!
I'm greatly looking forward to exploring and stuff too, so far my travels
have only taken me as far as paineel and the warrens.

Mine would be con'ing Guard Nash in Nth Qeynos and him being white.
Nash, the newbie guard that would finish every mob off in the zone with one
swing and I once saw him tear Cros Treewind a new one, which was a very
satisfying thing to see, especially as I never got to have revenge on
Treewind.

Yup, I do the same too. Pretty neat to remember the fear I had in the swamp
killing froglocks (or running from them)... and now I can bash em en masse.

I also try and take a screenshot or two for each level that kinda shows what
I concentrated on at the time. Interesting to look back thru those and
remember your groups, deaths, kills etc. at each stop along the way.

yeah, I know the feeling. I have a lvl 54 warrior (barb) and I must say Ive
come a long way. My equipment is now quite impressive a long cry from the
dayz when a Langseax was uber and bronze was exspensive. Oh yeah, the dayz
when Icegaints would womp my piddly lvl 17 ass in about 5 seconds. Or better
yet, and Iam sure all halas warriors can relate to me on this one, when
vengful lyricists would chase me to the Gaurds or kill me whatever came
first. Today I soloed a Giant in the Dreadlands just for shits and giggles,
and its always fun to go back and kill the DE guards that hassled me on my
way to Sol B. So I empathise with newbies. Thats why when I kill dwarfs in
Icewell I always bring back some of the nice velium weapons for people in
the newbie yards. Its great to see them say Thanks about 20 times. I just
hope I can look back at lvl 54 when Iam 60 and remember when I didnt have my
epics or any pieces of armor from Kael Drakal quests. I guess Ill have to
wait and see.

My "Wow...I'm getting up there, now" moment was nuking the POD on the
way out of Neriak. Hit him for 360 with Enticement of Flame, and then
ran for the zone. :-)

Yup, that is a sign of having come far...and confusing East Commons and
West Commons is a sign that you've still got a ways to go. :-)

My wood elves leave Kelethin at level one (usually by leaping off the edge to
their death) and hope to never go back. I always end up back there every few
months (today, for instance, to get Ring of Combines) and I always blunder
around trying to find my guild or the bank.

I was asked if I had bought the character on ebay last time, that was
embarrassing.

-Well, God was my co-pilot....but we crashed into a mountain and I had to eat
Him.

From the POD lift, straight across, left, up to get to the bank.

From the bank, go up, right, down, down to get to the druid guild.

Kelethin is a very small home town. You usually only need to know how to
get to the lifts, the bank, and your guild. Piece of cake.
