If you want spierLING silk, go to Ferrot - all spiders and spiderlings
drop the LING silk.
Crag spiders only drop regular silk, but it's the best place in the game
to farm that stuff.

Crags only drop regular silks. If they dropped spiderling silks also I
guess that would be absolutely none left over for the lower level characters
that want to hunt them for experience.

Actually, the fastest spiderling drops I've gotten yet were in
EverFrost. If you're big enough (level 12+) to take the occasional
vengeful musician, you can farm silks, low-grade pelts, bone chips,
and Qeynos faction just by standing in one spot and killing what runs
by.

I don't think the listing for heart spiders is accurate,
1 to 11? How about 9 to 11? Of course every time
I've killed one they've been screamingly green, but
I've never seen one drop "one shot one kill" to
any of my various level 30 silk farmers, and I'm certain
a level one spider would do so.

what do they drop?
Crystalline Silk
Add to the missing....
Wood Spider and Large Wood Spider drop up to 4 Spiderling Silks in Misty
Thicket.
Level range is 2-5 and 3-6 for large, I think.
Missing:
Sludge Spiderling, L2 or so, Qeynos Catacombs/Sewers/Aqueducts
Widow Hatchling, L2 or so, Toxx Forest.
SPIDER SILK DROPPERS
Large Widow, Toxx Forest
Giant Widow, Toxx Forest
Unsure of level on these two but they're both low, with the giant being
slightly higher than the large (naturally enough).
CRYSTALLINE DROPPERS
Crystal Crawler, L32ish, Crystal Caverns.
Crystal Lurker, L31ish, Crystal Caverns.
Crystal Webmaster, L33ish, Crystal Caverns.

only lists Woven Silk... which is not a trade skill
silk. Woven silk is only for newbie quest. (please correct me if I am
wrong.)

While it's impossible to prove a negative, and this isn't much of a
sample, I killed a couple of those widows while waiting for a Hole raid
to start recently. And yes, they only dropped the woven silk for the
newbie armor. If they do, in fact, drop regular spider silk, (which is
entirely possible) I haven't seen it.
I tend to think not, though. They seem to be part of the "revamp
generation" of mobs that were added in for the newbie armors. They tend
to have their own loot table. Another example is the giant yellow
recluse in Steamfont. Drops quest specific yellow recluse silk (also for
newbie armor quests) and no regular silk. I've killed a metric buttload
of those and never seen a single normal silk drop.

"Would you care for a sammich?"
It was added when the Qeynos newbie quests went live, so that there'd be a
source of spiderling silk without having to run to Everfrost.

I've heard second-hand information that two woven silk can be combined to
form regular silk swatches, but haven't confirmed it myself. When (if) I
remember to check it, I'll let you know.... =)
