I'm in one of those situations where I simply do not know what to do.
I've
been playing everquest for a couple months now and I had managed to get
Velix my troll shadowknight to lvl 19. I was havin a great time with the
char but then fell upon hardtimes. I was headed to kunark for the first
time and a friendly druid gave me a port to DL. =( little did I know what I
was getting into. Being my first time in kunark I was very disoriented and
died to a yeti or something. I tried for so many h ours to get that corpse
back but first of all getting to DL again (I was bound at the time in oggok)
was a lesson in frustration and finnally once I got there I simply could not
find it. To make a long story short I quit EQ in sadness. Now I realize I
gave up to quick and had a bad attitude and have returned and plan on
staying for the long haul.

Problem is I wasn't In a guild and have no other chars (higher then lvl 3),
so basically I'm a naked troll sk. Now I'm by no means begging... but any
help would be amazing. I had such good equipment, mith 2h and all.
Anything just to get on my feet (fs 2hander and some banded or something)
would be incredible and I would be glad to pay you back once I get the
money. Thanks for your understanding and for not flaming me (in advance),
I'm just a nasty evil troll sk who wants to get back to doing what he does
best, murder and mayhem =)

I play on The tribunal. please reply by email or in newsgroup.
Thank you very much.

I play on tribunal too and can't see why you could not get someone to
drag your corpse and lost all that stuff at level 19. Really even at
level 19 I could drag any corpse in dreadlands with an sow (guess im
more experienced though)

In the future as a troll sk its better for you to take the boat to the
overthere zone and get bound there rather than run through dreadlands.
Dreadlands is bad and this is a case of where people who are lower
level think that a port to dreadlands is a short cut because they have
ports on the mind never having had to hoof it everywhere on the
servers when they first go up. A port to dreadlands is NOT a shortcut,
its the long cut and a VERY bad idea when you have to get bound in a
city anyway you may as well take the boat to FV if good or the boat to
overthere if a naughty race.

Level 19 troll SK with Mithrill 2hs? And not guilded .. I thought that to be
impossible but looks like not after all.

Maybe a "gift of entrance into EQ" by a friend who initiated him =)

Nah, if you can invis, Firepots to Cabalis is the shortcut to take.
Nothing
I've found in Cabalis east or west sees invis, and the firepots drop you
off ritght at the zone line in to LOIO, in a spot with no guards or
wanderers
near enough to aggro. Heck, even without Invis, with SOW you can
outrun the guards outside, make a quick left so as not to pick up any more
followers, and have lost the first two long before you hit the streambed.

Cabalis, of course, is one of the places where melee can get bound.

There are also two other ports in Kunark, people tend to think DL since
it used to be necessary to go there and then run to KC in order to evac...
but thats' been changed, evac to EJ and Skyfire both now can be done
from anywhere, instead of just from inside Kunark dungeons. Its difficult

to reccommend the Skyfire port to anyone under 50, but the EJ one
is again doable with good geographic knowledge and invis or SOW
capability. From EJ its a quick jog over to Field of Bone, where you
can get a bind outside Kaesora.

Dstep is quite correct in mentioning bind locations, it hardly matters
if the port spot is inches from where you will be fighting, if your port
spot is several zones away from a bind then your real distance to
the fight is -twice- that far, unless you are grouped with a druid/wizard
who ports that you can rely on coming to get you (or with a cleric
you can rely on to res you...) None of those options are likely for
a 19 SK.

Surprisingly enough it was a gift. You'd be surprised. I try my best to RP
when possible, help people out and be a good guy to strangers. Higher lvl
sks have given me things from a mith 2hander to believe it or not a piece or
two of sentient. Now I'm not too big on twinking but if it's given to me,
I mean what am I supposed to do with it? Aye I had some really good stuff
=(

Thanks for all the pointers guys.

I think my druid at 30 has used the self port to DL once since i got it,
it was the most nerve wracking scarey run i have ever done through a
zone, and have taken the boat to FV any other time. I don't even like
running through with my 41 rogue. Actually most times I go to Kunark i
prefer to go through OT even though any character i have taken is KOS to
the Outpost. I just think the boat ride is shorter than the one to FV,
and I rarely need to bank while there, can sell to the iksar in the
mudpits, etc.

If you're still around Oggok go in & find the potion vendor. He/she will
also sell Chipped Bone Rods which have either 3 or 5 charges of Locate
Corpse. Buy a few of them.

Go to WC and auction for a ride to DL. Once you get there (you must have
SoW) go SE to the ice tunnel. Go invis...some things see through it, but
not everything (I assume a 19 SK has it but I don't know).

Once you get thru the ice tunnel, target yourself & right-click on the rod
(it must be in a general inventory slot, NOT in a bag) and you will be
turned towards your corpse. Invis up again and run that way. When you
think you are close cast it again, get invis, and start running again.

Remember NOT to loot your corpse where you died...after all, you KNOW that
critters wander there. Most zone walls around there should be safe. Even
better would be for you to go back to the druid ring area and loot there.

Then get a ride back to NRo/SRo/WC and take the boat. It's a hell of a run
from DL to OT (closest bind point for you) at level 19.

I'm not on Trib, sorry. :(

at 19 it wont matter if the monsters are 35 or 50. If i was a troll going to
kunark, and no boat, I think id try and make it through skyfire, rather than
DL. With a sow, EJ would be trivial.
