Unless I screw the sneak / hide up, will it ever drop on me? Does it have
a random chance of dropping?
What happen if I take falling damage, does it go away?
What if I am Lev'd and it drops, and I accelerate rapidly to the ground?
Does it drop then?
Do I ever get to go faster when I Hide / Sneak?
So much to learn...
The Safehouse won't display properly on any of the browsers on my Mandrake
8.0 box, so I can't browse that and read while I play. Damn.

There is a very small chance of having sneak/hide (S/H) drop. I can
remember it happening to me only one time without a Mob near.
>What happen if I take falling damage, does it go away?
Nope, taking falling damage still leaves you S/H. (unless you take 10,000,
then you will appear at the bind point total visible. ;-P
>What if I am Lev'd and it drops, and I accelerate rapidly to the ground?
>Does it drop then?
Not that I have seen.
>Do I ever get to go faster when I Hide / Sneak?
Try and be Sow'd when you have to S/H for any great distance. At high
levels your sneak/hide speed increases up to where you will be running just
as fast S/H as visable. Not sure on the exact levels though.
>So much to learn...>The Safehouse won't display properly on any of the
browsers on my Mandrake
>8.0 box, so I can't browse that and read while I play. Damn.
Personally, I skip the Safehouse menus and head straight for the Safehouse
message boards. That is where all the information and good advice it.
Some other S/H info.
It used to be that when someone cast a spell on you, you would be visible.
They have fixed that now so that buffage/healing doesn't affect your
visibility.
Some mobs see through S/H. Bats in Sol B, Assassin in LGUK, Dragons can
all see through S/H... HOWEVER, if you remain BEHIND the line of sight of
these mobs, you can stay alive. I love to see screenshots of brave rogues
standing behind dragons and other Boss mobs with only sneak on.
Sneak / Hide isn't as reliable against mobs many levels higher than you. If
your level 20 and the mob is level 40, there is a greater chance of you
becoming lunch.
Learn to con mobs with the "c" key rather than "right-click", if you
accidentally loot something, you will unhide and you will get creamed.
You can start sneak/hide while swimming... but!... you can start on land and
then go into the water S/H, you WILL swim SAH (Slow as Hell) though.
It is hard to be running, stop quickly and click Sneak/Hide. The lag makes
the system think your still moving and you will get a failure. (similar to
casting while moving) What I do is stop running, then tap a turn arrow
key. This forces the system to accept a stop and turn before you send it
the sneak/hide. (again, casters use this method to insure their spells go
off.)
Hope these tips help. If I am incorrect in my theories listed above...don't
worry. People posting here LOVE to correct me. :-)

sorry, Sneak/Hide works fine with the majority of live...and... undead mobs.
>but I believe the sneak/hide of the rogue - especially that of the

see

most mobs that see invis, will see a rogue. If the rogue stays behind the
see-invis mob, the rogue is safe. If another class is behind a see-invis
mob he will be aggroed (even if he has invis or camo).
>To safely move around Befallen and retrieve a few corpses for people, I

No. It will fail however, if you're stealthed and an invisibility or
illusion spell fades on you; though your hide / sneak buttons will still
appear to active. Same goes if you accidentally right-click on a corpse
you're dragging; re-hide as soon as you can.
Also, be sure to consider everything you can [1] to make sure the mob
you're creeping up on really can't see you. If in doubt, sneak behind if
you can.
>What happen if I take falling damage, does it go away?
Only if you die.
>What if I am Lev'd and it drops, and I accelerate rapidly to the ground?
>Does it drop then?
Dropping isn't the problem, it's the landing you have to worry about.
>Do I ever get to go faster when I Hide / Sneak?
From level 51 onwards, your speed will increase marginally each time you
level, to normal speed at level 60.
>So much to learn...
Then get going, OK slick?
>The Safehouse won't display properly on any of the browsers on my Mandrake

The Safehouse is a chore to read for me too, but that's for different
reasons.
[1] Remember however, that considering any mob whilst sneaking from
behind will return an 'indifferent' (Non-aggressive) message.

Now you've confused me.. you contradict yourself it seems... ?
Does it work with the MOBS or do they see through it? Like I said, you stay
hidden unless you're attacked by something that can see you... most things
can not see you (at lower levels) however, like I also said, if something
that can usually see through Invis or Camo it will more than likely see you
as well. HOWEVER if you read the information on the various rogue sites, it
seems to hint that rogue's hiding are often better off than a camo druid
when it comes down to what sees you and what doesn't.
Actually, there should be 0% chance. I've never had this happen or heard of
it happening. Something must have been done to cancel it.

hehe.. and yes, your corpse would become visible. ;)

Nope.

I saw a site that had tables on it showing the actual percentages to be
expected of normal travel speed.. I don't recall the numbers either but it's
not fully appreciated until levels 20+ and I think at 55 or something it's
full speed.

Does EQ no tell me I've returned to view or I've stopped hiding like
it does at all other times.. ? I've looted while hidden but haven't really
cared to check my hidden status... good to know. ;) Of course, my DRU
returns to view, Camo goes away, etc., so I should have assumed a Rogue
would also come back to view.

OMG THANKS!!! I'd been beating my Dru's head against the trees on this
one... ;)

Re-read what Orlun wrote. You are safe as long as you stay *behind* the
mob. You have a Hide component, which can be seen through as if it were
invisibility, and a Sneak component, which is much harder to see through,
if you aren't in a direct line of sight. If you aren't sneaking, a mob
will aggro you no matter whether you are in front of it or behind it.

What browsers do you have? On my RedHat 7.2 system, it's fine in
Konqueror, Mozilla, links, and lynx. Broken in Netscape (hangs at 8%
of every page, but is mostly OK if you click "stop").
There are some things that look broken, but that are actually ezboard
screwing up, such as threads that say they have several replies, but
show up with no replies when you enter the thread.
--Tim Smith
Likewise. Sneak and Hide never drop unless by accident or maybe some kind
of glitch. I've gone AFK over night once (in a safe area) and been still
hiding when I returned. I, too, have never heard of anybody else's S/H
dropping.
> > >Do I ever get to go faster when I Hide / Sneak?
Post 50, rogues start to Sneak faster. At 60th, there is no difference in
movement.

Precisely why I blew a huge sum of cash mid-30s on Tboots. Sneaking while
un-SoWed can be painfully slow.

No difference in Sneak speed at all until 50s.

As an instruction, it's much more correct to say that mobs see through Hide
but not Sneak. I've heard some people saying that certain mobs can see
through Sneak but I've not yet seen any of those claims confirmed. I know
rogues who have sat Sneaking behind Naggy for screenshots, etc.

Likewise, that's a chance to see through the Hide, not the Sneak portion.

There's ways around that which I've documented at my site:
http://how.to/stayhidden
> Does EQ no tell me I've returned to view or I've stopped hiding like

USUALLY. Non-rogues never get Hide or Sneak messages, period. Rogues get
messages that Hide has dropped or failed in *combat* but if you were hidden
when you started looting, your Hide key will remain greyed out and you'll
get no message.

I used to use Konqueror, but it crashes on Allakhazam. Every time. Now, I
use Mozilla, and if I recall correctly, the drop-down menus just do not
work, as if Mozilla isn't supporting their Javascript.
I'll try it again when I think about it, but I'm pretty sure that's the
problem I was having.
My guild's EZBoard shows up fine in Mozilla so far, but it's a new board.
The bad news is... you pop up more damn ads than I know what to do with...
can you get rid of about half of those ads? I think I counted like 5 new
windows.. shite!

The Safehouse ezboard works fine, but thier webmaster is a fully
