Can some one explain this to me:
Ok at 24th lev a druid can get ports to zones he/she has no business in.But
ya gotta wait until 29th lev to go to Misty thicket.Its a safe zone and not
too bad of a trip but just a little out of the way.What's the dealio?

You have something real to look forward to at 29, don't you? Anticipation
is exactly what EQ is about...always has been. Except for Misty portal
there's nothing thrilling to look forward to at 29, is there? New
skin...whoopie...new heal...bout time *yawn*. EASY BANKING!? WHOO HOO!!

Well, except they're able to port to within a few
yards of a bank and vendor at 19 in a zone area that's
even safer than Misty Thicket...

Ring of Grimling is awesome! It is great to have a bank so close to a port.

Ahhh, didn't even think of that, thanks!

Ok, to correct my answer, I'll say that when the spells were introduced,
that spell was a very much desired spell.... Err, to correct me even
further...I guess group port at 29 was probably more desired than Misty's
self-port...but still, it's a very nice spell. :)
