Hello,
I am a 7th level Rogue on Fennin Ro server. I have a few questions
that some of you might be able to answer:

1) Where can I find a listing of Guilds on the Fennin Ro server?

2) I have noticed that, for example, a rusted spear and a bronze spear both
show the same amount of damage. If this is so, why pay extra for the bronze,
for only a little faster swing? Does the finer blade actually do more
damage or??

3) What cities have a Rogues guild in them? (I know Qeynos and Freeport
do)

4) If I were to take up a side job (smithing, tailoring, etc..) which is in
your opinion the best one for money generating?

a) How do you get started in this career (ex. starting kits,
supplies etc)?

b) And how hard are the supplies to find to generate products in
this field.

c) could you list examples of cost of making vs/ Sale value of some
basic items.

5) If you choose to enter the "Circle Of Chaos" what exactly does this do?
How can you tell others that are in the circle or chaos etc..

Many thanks

Faster swing is more damage overall and faster skill-learning, I would get
me a giant snake fang if I were you.

Neriak, Kelethin, Qeynos, Freeport, Halas, Rivervale, Kaladim and Ak'anon.

There's not a side job wich makes you easy money. Jewelry, Fletching and
Smithing can make you some in the long run but since you're a Rogue go for
Pottery, you need that skill when you get make poison.

You can look the merchants up at Alakhazam's magical realm under tradeskill
Pottery.

Buy them or go to the Gorge of King Xorbb and slay Muddites, they drop Clay.

Most trade skill wil cost you a lot of pp to learn.

It will make you a player vs player character, there are not many of them on
the normal (non PvP servers) and you can tell who is one by their RED names.
The disadvantage is that non PvP's cannot cast a spell on you, ie; you
cannot be healed, harmed or buffed by them. So I would not choose to become
one if I were you )

Bronze isn't that much better than rusty. Save up 6-12p (a good price would
be 8p) for fine steel as soon as you can. The damage number is important,
but no more important than the delay. A delay of 30 means that you can take
a swing every 3 seconds (well, as a non-twinked newbie anyway). A delay of
40 is 4 seconds, etc. As you can see, that can add up.

Kelethin, Rivervale and Halas do (hell, the bank is run by rogues there). I
don't have a rogue, so can't think of any others.

No trade skill will give you much money as a rogue. Enchanters can do
jewelry, but I doubt if you ever make back what you put into it, and shaman
have alchemy. Alchemy sounds cool, but I don't have any experience in that.
I think it COULD be a moneymaker selling to high level (40+) characters.

I do some smithing, jewelry, brewing, and tailoring. I don't do it for the
money, I do it for the fun/break from hack n slash.

http://everquest.allakhazam.com has links to lots of the specific questions
you've asked.

That is great advice. In fact, you can get fine steel right now. Find a place
where high level players are killing guards. Be very polite and offer to run
errands for them, sell items, and do their banking. In most cases they will
give you a piece of fine steel.

Forget it. Making money is much easier, in the long run, by fighting, helping
higher-level players, and perhaps increasing your pickpocket skill.

I just have never understood how people have money problems unless they spend
it to twink other characters. There is so much loot.

These trades just soak up your practice points. About their only practical use
is to help lower-level players in your guild.

Well, I have no idea where you can get the FULL listing of
guilds(you'd think this would be on the EQ site eh?), but
http://everquest.allakhazam.com/ has a damn respectable one

Greetings fellow rogue. <salutes>

> 1) Where can I find a listing of Guilds on the Fennin Ro server?

There are several guild lists at sites such as everquest.allakhazam.com,
eq.stratics.com, www.maximumeq.com and etc. but if you are seeking to join
a guild the best approach is to see what players you like and what guild
they are in. Guilds are primarily social animals and you will want to get
a feel for the players they attract before you join.

both

There are three important things to look at on a weapon:

Damage = The multiplier for how much damage you will do per hit.
Delay = How often you will swing the weapon. The more swings, the more
damage.
Weight = How much it weighs. Useful to know if you are getting encumbered
and good to keep an eye on for loss of Stamina in long fights.

And a few secondary things to pay attention to:

Effect = The weapons Process. Usually a spell that has a certain chance of
going off in a fight.
Magic = If the weapon says it is MAGIC then it can hit Willowisps, ghouls
and other magic creatures.
Lore = LORE means you can only use one of that particular type of weapon.

What does that all mean? Well, the Giant Snake Fang (looted of one of those
really poisonous snakes) makes a nice piercing weapon. Damage is 5, delay
is 27. Pretty decent damage to delay ratio. As some others here have
mentioned, the next step is to save up for a Fine Steel Rapier or Spear. I
would recommend the Spear for your better backstab damage when you reach
level 10.

> 3) What cities have a Rogues guild in them? (I know Qeynos and Freeport
> do)

Most cities do. Any city that you can create a Rogue in for example. Some
have decent quests, but most do not.

> 4) If I were to take up a side job (smithing, tailoring, etc..) which is
in
> your opinion the best one for money generating?

Trades seem to consume, rather than produce money. One trade you will need
later on is Pottery. Not to bad of an investment is required (40pp or so
to get to master as compared to 300pp for Smithing, and 4000pp for Jewelry)
but there is no market to resell your wares. But, as a rogue you will need
to be a master potter for your Make Poison skill when you reach 20.

> a) How do you get started in this career (ex. starting kits,
> supplies etc)?

Halas if you are liked is the best place to Potter. Everything you need is
in one zone. Other places are Freeport, Felwithe, and Rivervale.

> b) And how hard are the supplies to find to generate products in

A potters wheel is required and those usually are only found in a city.

> c) could you list examples of cost of making vs/ Sale value of some

The one pottery item I see sold is Poison vials. I dont remember the prices
tho.

I don't know <g>

But, if that is the book that you hand to the Priest of Discord. Dont do
it! Rogues are best in a group (and best there if you have a group that
knows how to work with you) If you follow the path of chaos (turns your
name red and all other red-named players can kill you) then you will not be
able to be buffed, healed, etc... by your group members.
