I've done the quests in Halas to raise steel warrior faction and it doesn't
seam to be working. I've done the ice goblin necklace quest 12 ore more
times, and the gnoll fang quest about 12 times also. In all I've done this
25 times total and I'm STILL indifferent. Can soeone please let me know how
many times you need to do this to become amiable? I need to be amiable for
another quest.
The quest I'm refering to is the one given by the guard in the Qeynos
Warrior guild. He is on steel warrior faction (the guard NEXT to the one who
you give the gnoll fangs to). He won't trust me enough because I'm only
indifferent. Or is this also race based? I'm a barbarian, is there ever any
hope of being liked by him? I've done this quest so many times now that I'm
KINDLY to most of Halas.
Also the main problem I have is finding gnoll fangs. They seam to have
become less common than finding a full set of fine steel armor on a rat in
the newbie area (maybe not quite that uncommon, but near it).

I can think of two, maybe three other ways to raise the faction up to
amiable or kindly.
You have to kill about 250 to 300 adult gnolls or about 500 gnoll pups.
Go to the Arena in Qeynos and talk to the female warrior at the pit's edge
near the merchant and see if can get the kobold hide quest. If so, Go to the
warrens and loot them off of kobolds that you or others have killed. You can
also buy them in great numbers. They are heavy and people often do not loot
them or destroy them. They sell for only a few copper or silver at best so
they are not worth the trouble, except if you are after gaining them for the
quest. On several characters now I have gone from kindly to warmly with only
about 40 hides. If you can get the quest from her, fill up all your bank
slots and personal backpacks with them. This way you only need to make the
whole boatride and journey once.
This one you need to check out on a web site but if I remember right there
is a necro you can kill named Tomar Vox or something similar to that in the
Qeynos Hills area. I seem to remember someone saying they were killing him
to raise S.W. faction also. He's around level 12 and potent if you are a
lesser level than he. Double check the faction hits before killing him
because I'm not sure and you will take faction hits with other groups you
may want to stay friendly with.
Of all the choices though, turning in gnoll teeth (and also the moonstones
so you balance the corrupt guard faction) is the best way. If I had to guess
I would think 50 to 75 would do it for you. My Barb. shaman turned in around
that many and is warmly with good guards and amiable to corrupt guards.

There are no quests in Halas to raise Steel Warrior faction.
If you ae turning in Gnoll teeth to Lysbith Mcnaff in Halas, you are gaining
Wolves of the North faction.
You turn Gnoll Teeth into Captain Tillin in the Arena in Qeynos to gain
Steel Warrior faction.

Something doesn't add up here, Race is really just an Issue of faction and
so you should be able to raise Steel Warrior faction, by going to the Arena
in Qeynos and Handing in about 20+ Gnoll Teeth.
However I do still think you're confused with the Gnoll Teeth quests so let
me explain this.

THERE ARE 2 DIFFRENT GNOLL TEETH QUESTS
#1 This one raises wolves' the north and merchants o' halas faction
Go to Lysbyth Mcnaff in the arena in HALAS and hand her gnoll teeth 3 at a
time.
She gives exp, a little gold and some generic supplies, as well as the above
2 faction boosts.

#2 This one raises, Steel Warriors, Qeynos Guards, Qeynos Merchants, Jagged
Pine treefolk and a bunch of others. Corrupt Qeynos Guards, Bloodsabers,
and Kane Bayle all take a big nose dive, but are balanced out if you finsish
the quest.
Go to Captain Tillin in the Arena in QEYNOS and hand him Gnoll Teeth, as
many as you want at a time and I have had success personally by handing him
4 stacks of 4 Gnoll teeth.
Anyways pray the you have extra room in your backpack as for each tooth he
gives you a Moonstone. Take the moonstone to Fish's Ale and Give them to
the Bartender in the back room and he will balance out the negative hits you
took with Corrupt Guards and Bloodsabres. As well as give you 1 BB Stout
for each moonstone, which you can sell, drink, whatever.

I hope that helps
Sincerely
Morpain (Mage of 16 Elements Ayonae Ro)

I disagree, as far as I remember Capt Tillin (not being part of the steel
warriors as such) does not give SW faction but Lysbith does.

Lysbith

Tillin

Allakhazam agrees with me.

If you want Steel Warriors faction, try going here for some ideas

Not unless they have changed it recently.

Qeynos Details
You may have noticed that on occasion you get a gnoll fang after killing
a gnoll. You have probably been throwing them away since merchants
disdain buying those dirty gnoll teeth. But wait! There is a guard
Captain (Captain Tillin) located on the top floor of the arena in Qeynos
who seems to have a pathological hatred of gnolls (don't we all). Take
him your collection of fangs and give them to him for some experience
and a moonstone. Use your Moonstones for the Moonstone quest. (give to
Mcneal Jocub in the Fish's Ale) Giving a gnoll tooth to Captain Tillin
raises your faction with GuardsofQeynos and Antonius Bayle and Merchants
of Qeynos, and lowers it with the
Corrupt Qeynos Guards, Circle of Unseen Hands

Halas Details

Qeynos isn't the only place with and NPC who hates gnolls enough to pay
for their fangs.

Lysbith McNaff in the pit of Doom will give you rations, money and
experience for each gnoll tooth you give her. (you may have to give her
three at a time now). Almost makes that dental degree worthwhile.

Giving teeth to Lysbith Mcnaff raises your faction with Wolves of the
North; Shamen of Justice; Merchants of Halas; Steelwarriors and it
lowers your faction with Rogues of the White Rose

I'm afraid you are incorrect.
Giving the gnoll teeth to the barbarian in Halas DOES raise Steel Warrior
faction (as well as Wolves Of The North, Shaman of Justice, and Halas
Merchants).
Giving gnoll teeth to the fellow at the Arena in Qeynos, DOES NOT raise
Steel Warrior faction.

>THERE ARE 2 DIFFRENT GNOLL TEETH QUESTS

True

Partially True. It also raises barbarian shaman faction and steel warrior
faction. It used to lower barbarian rogue faction, but they removed this one
some time back.

Again. WRONG WRONG WRONG!
The gnoll teeth quest is Qeynos has NEVER in over a year, raised Steel Warrior
faction. (and probably not before that either, but I wasn't playing from day
one, so can't say for certain.)

>I hope that helps

It would have if it had been correct information.

They fixed the Halas version of the quest so it doesn't give you a faction
hit with the Rogues of the White Rose, btw.

Have you tried to see if you can do the young steel warrior quest? This
is given by an NPC on the second floor in the warrior guild. Collect 5
bat wings and snake scales and combine them in a quest bag.

I swear up and down I've seen Steel Warrior faction on the Qeynos part of
this quest.
I'm gonna go march my butt up to Black Burrow right now and kill gnolls
until I get some Teeth.
I will let you all know what I find out, and I'm sorry in advance if I'm
wrong on this.
Sincerely
Morpain (Mage of 16 Elements, Ayonae Ro)

p.s. I still swear giving the Teeth to Captain Tillin does give Steel
Warrior faction :-), I can't possibly be that wrong (right?) Either way
I'll keep ya appraised of the situation.
