Anyway,
The Environmentalists, actually Friends of the Earth, paid for an Ad which
ran on Sunday. (Of course that was not mentioned by local times and NEWS)
The Sunday AD contained a printing error. There was some
font missing in the secondary heading. The Sunday paper AD did not have the
free space provided by because it was paid for. Then, on Monday the second
ad appeared. It had the 'free space provided by' notice. Someone I know
called the lady
who was working with the ad agency and Friends of the Earth to place the ad.
She said that the Times did give the Monday ad free. After learning
about the free Monday ad, my friend recommended to her not to pursue a
"make good"
for the printing error on Sunday. Although the Sunday circulation is a lot
higher than Monday, He figured they probably shouldn't ask the Times
to make good the error on Sunday, since they gave the Monday ad free.
However, the Ad Agency called up the Times and asked them to do a
make good. he guesses that must have been the ad which appeared in
Tuesday's
paper. But, the Tuesday Ad, as well as the Mondy .ad, had the "free space
provided by" notice. In his opinion the "make good" should not have had
that notice.
