Hello!
I have not been able to summon creatures, I dont know how to summon
the jade gorgoyle or scorpion. Can Anyone please guide me? I have
placed them in the book in positions 1 or 2. Only
healing, zap, fireskulls etc seems to work. Im in the goblin/robot
stage.

You have no idea how much hassle you just caused over here! :-)
I assume that you're playing the original ?
I haven't managed to get DSIII to run on my pc yet, and no
priority to do so, so i can't help if that's the case.
With DS1 you can if i recall correctly, put spells in the primary
(casting) positions that you cannot cast because you have
insufficient skill as yet. If they are browny-yellow, you cannot use it.
I have lost my disk for it (had begun to hunt for it yesterday,
having just read your post), but no joy.
So i can't help you much more than this.
If it's not lack of skill, i guess it might be lack of manna, if it
cost more than you have available it won't be cast.

Best i can come up with, hope it helps :-)

Actually, when put into a spellbook, a spell that requires a higher level
will have a red background. If you hover the cursor over the spell to get
the spell's info, one of the bits of info displayed is the minimum level
required, in red if that level is higher than yours. If this is the case,
equip some items that raise the appropriate magic level.

...which won't show up as uncastable (no red background or red lettering);
you just won't be able to cast it. If this is the case, equip items that
raise your mana.

Also, "hemivek", make sure that you're trying to put the summoned creature
in a valid location. If *you* can't go there, your summoned critter can't
either.

Hi.
(>> I haven't managed to get DSIII to run on my pc yet
Typo DSII not 3, missed that when i proof read.)

I have a 'new' second hand monitor now, but no game disk has returned.
therefore I defer to you.

I forgot you could do that. I had a nice weapon that boosted strength,
that my character was only able to use when his strength was boosted
by the weapon! I managed that by accident, i think i was sharing Armour
and he was able to equip the sword/hammer.
Once he had it he could change Armour, and the bonus for the weapon
let him still keep it.

Thanks for tidying up the details :-)

As it happens, I've been playing DS1 a *lot* the past few weeks.

I had a mace for a while that added 200+ mana. Was the biggest bonus I've
ever seen by quite a bit.
