Hi Folks,

i have tracked the discussion about the sound-problems in DK II, so as
i have them too. After downloading the qmixer 5.0 dll it shows me a
build date from 1999.09.21. Is this the actual file ?
By the way, it solves the crash-problems, but those cracking and
"echoed" sounds are still there.

Greetings,
Michael

Where are you getting that "build date"? The version information
should show 5.0.0.0. Your description exactly matches mine; i.e., it
solves the crashing, but it doesn't fix some of the goofiness.

Run 'dxdiag' and decrease sound acceleration to basic acceleration before
starting DKII. This will remove most of the distortion.

Hi Folks, thanks for your Tips, but nothing solves the Crash and
clicking Sound Problems.

So i delete the qmixer.dll and the Game runs as if nothing happens !
I can turn QSound on or off: nocthing happens.
For what is this DLL if not for the Sound ?????
Of course this did not solve the Problems, but it makes me think about
the DLL's..........

Greetings,
Michael

QMixer is a sound Mixing library built by QLabs, it uses DirectSound and
Windows Functions to produce "top quality sounds", BullFrog rather stupidly
used QMixer, Windows Mixer and DirectSound for the sound in DK2 causing run
overs and the XP sysaudio.sys improvements weren't used so the game will
exprience sound difficulties on computers without certain Hardware
configurations.

If you delete QMixer the game crashes on startup unless it never uses it
BTW. I got the reverse, the sounds almost perfectly but it crashes now which
it didn't do before, if someone can find QMixer 4.5 that should get the
sound perfectly
