CHEATS DON'T WORK...HELP

I've tried everything and the cheats don't work!!

They do not work for me at all. I press CNTRL+ALT+C and I hear the noise
and then I type uppercase,lowercase, no spaces, spaces, enter after typing
etc and to no effect!!! I don't know why it isn't working. I need to use
the cheats for just one level which I can not complete. I have checked out
all the sites and the cheats are the same.

any clues as to why the cheats wont work for me?

Do I just type like it says, or do I have to press enter, have caps lock

I did hear that some versions of the game don't work with cheats. Seeing I
bought the game in Australia could that be the reason?

Hehe let me tell you why.Cheats only work in 1.3.they do not work
in any patched version this is because it spoils it for people who
want to play a serious game on multiplayer.

Cheats work perfectly well in single player mode.

Well the cheats didn't work for me with in the CD. I am not sure what
version it is but I bought it in Australia. It says it has been
manufactured in Singapore if that has anything to do with it. I updated to
1.7 hoping the cheats would work but to no avail. I don't want to use the
cheats but the level I'm playing has be stuck. The level I'm on I have to
destroy Asmodeus' Gem by destroying his dungeon heart. But I have to get
through Lord Ronin's lines to do it and I just keep dying. There must be a
way to do it but I have tried and tried and after many hours in front of the
computer I can't get any further and I feel like giving up. although I don't
want to use them the cheats would have made it easier. I would have to stop
myself from using them in later levels but they don't work anyway.

I do like all the websites say, press CNTRL+ALT+C and then I hear the door
opening. I type away and the screen jumps around but nothing happens. I've
tried everything. Maybe the CD I bought just wont allow the cheats to work.

Does anyone know how to win this level??

Any help will be greatly appreciated as it will allow me to get more sleep
at night!

DK2 does have a few quirks within the normal playing rules that should help you
get past the determined Lord Ronin and let you give that so called Lord Asmodeus
his just reward.

One of the more difficult aspects of this level is to avoid a two front war.
Remember the good Lord Ronin is keeping Asmodeus safely bottled up. Let him
expend the troops to keep up this effort.

First remember be cunning. No matter how tough your opponent, there is almost
always a back door, if you can find it. Where you must engage Lord Ronin's
troops, make every effort to keep the battle limited. A good game of trap
chess, protecting a long range (sentry trap) with closer range freeze traps or
spike traps can hold off the forces of good for a long time. Also take time to
make Lord Ronin's troops your own via the Torture Chambers and let them pound on
their former fellows when the heat is on.

The main trick to this one is to out flank your enemies. Isolate Lord Ronins
outer forces and make their positions your own. Find the cowardly escape route
of a back door that a weasel like Asmodeus must have left himself and use it as
your front door.

And most of all, hang in there and keep trying. I managed to make it all the way
to the end, and along the way banged my head against the wall a time or three.
It CAN be done.

Key ideas:

You are the forces of evil. Be Sneaky, Set up ambushes, Fight dirty (there is
nothing less amusing than a FAIR fight), Attack from directions that they do not
expect, and the easy path to your dungeon heart should lead right into a death
trap.

I had the same problem with my (US) version which I patched to 1.7. In
my case, the problem turned out to be that some of the letters in the
cheat code were mapped to keyboard commands (I think 'p' would zoom me
to a portal and is also needed for the 'feel the power' cheat code).
If you go to the options menu and configure the keyboard, you can remap
any key commands that conflict (are part of) the cheat codes and it
should work. The way I did it was to remap things like 'p' to
'<shift> p' for the entire alphabet and then cheat codes started
working (you type them all in lower case, no shift or caps lock or
anything). That worksed for me, at least YMMV.
