Probably because they knew that they were releasing the full version a
few days after the beta, they didn't want the beta to spread all over the
place so that some of the people who got it wouldn't know there was a
more complete version with more levels. This way people are unlikely to
spread the beta around much because it doesn't work any more, and people
will get the final version (which is already out).
