Inferno Question

(Inferno). I have 100% items and kills and 75% secret. The one thing I
can't seem to do is get to a control switch in a blue rectangle in the
blue-floored triangular area. I've tried running off the rooftop to fall in
the blue rectangle and always seem to just miss. What gives? All help will
be greatly appreciated.

It's funny. One time I just walked around it, continually checking for a
hidden door and next thing I know, I'm on the hidden level. Of course, I
only had about 50% of the Level 6 explored--so I went back and picked up
all the goodies and blew away all the baddies. When I returned to the
rectangle, I couldn't jump down into or trigger it from the outside. After
about 20 minutes of this, I got pissed off and turned off clipping by
typing idspispopd. I then walked through the wall, turned clipping back
on, and exitted the level. I'd like to know what a guy has to do to make
it through without cheating, though.

The first time I got there, I jumped over to the chainsaw, and
the chainsaw pillar rose up high enough to make the jump.
Haven't been able to repeat it, though - I seem to have done
something that makes the chainsaw pillar rise too soon.

I never got the chainsaw, but I found that by RUNNING (holding down
SHIFT) while on the ledge, I could fall into the blue area and hit the
switch once. After that, the ledge dropped down a bit so I could no
longer do it (I think...) or get the chainsaw.

The switch in that rectangle leads to the secret level (level 9). To get into
it, you need ALOT of health.. Now face the rectangle from the ledge above it.
Now turn 180 degrees. Now fire a rocket INTO THE WALL! You'll get blasted into
the rectangle. The secret level is pretty fun.. Enjoy!

I started the original post and later happened to luck out and just
run into the area from the ledge above. I don't know exactly how
I did it but I think it was a combination of running off
the ledge and turning in midair. But the above method is cool
as hell! :-) I have to try it.
