Cheat keys for Doom

The following keys will help you complete ID's DOOM game

Type the following when in the game...

iddqd for 'God' mode (cannot be harmed)

idkfa full ammo of all types, all weapons (No you
can't use the top two weapons in the shareware
version even though they are listed), 200% armor
no backpack

idspispopd No clipping. You can now walk through walls.
Repeating the command turns the feature off...
Mind you dont get stuck in a wall!!!

idbehold Followed by s,v,i,r a or l for various things

s =Beserk Mode (must use fists as weapon) screen
turns red

v =Invulnerable - screen turns white

i =Invisible

r =Radiation Suit - walk through green lakes / rivers
without damage

a =Reveal entire map - unseen areas in grey

l =Light amplification (1 to 5 minutes)

idclev Followed by epesode number and level number (A warp
within the game!)

iddt Use this in map mode. Press once to see entire map
(does not show grey areas) press again to see where
everyone is.

So how the heck do people work these things out?? Have they got no lives,
and just type stuff to see what happens, or was there some leak of info
from ID Games? Or did they hack these out of the code itself? I'm
curious...

Basically, it's fun. It's a game outside of the game. After you finish
the game, try and hack it or build a utility for it. And yes, it takes
a person with too much free time to do this. So the people who do this
tend to be slacker/hacker types in high school who can breeze by their
classes.

(I still find the civilization map editor my roommate and I wrote in
1990 circulating on local BBS's.)
