hey, its only been two days, and ive already got the next
version of EdMap out.. isnt that worth some kinda award?
*grin* anyway: its on infant2 in ../incoming (next to
edmap101.zip), and its on wuarchive in ../games/DOOM.
its EDMAP102.ZIP, heres the plug:
==========
EdMap 1.02
----------
DOS-based DOOM map editor
Needs only a mouse and VGA.
Build (and play) maps quickly and easily.
Some features:play map function: loads DOOM with the current map,
when you exit DOOM, youre back to the editor with the
map you just played.
Enhanced view: 3D-like editing mode; see breaks, doors, etc. easier.
Error checking: checks textures, level things, triggers, etc.
simple mouse control: pan map, zoom, mode selection, object creation,
object move, etc. all on the mouse.
sector styles list: edit, create, delete sector styles.
sector progression: make the next sector.. (higher/brighter/etc)
no scroll bars anywhere: all options are always on the screen in front.
one-touch editing: tap a key to edit an object near the mouse.
etc..
***improvements in v1.02:
Error checking (including, of course, texture checking)
Independant batch-driven builder making EdMap more flexible
Improved process-handling; switches between EdMap/builder/DOOM better
"Load Latest PWAD" now scans the PWAD dir for the latest "*.WAD" file
Sector deletion
Some of the redraw routines were scrapped & rewritten in assembler
(no more lines-everywhere at far zooms off edge of the scr)
better menus in full-screen mode (does it look like a NeXT yet?)

please report bugs/suggestions to:

my goal: to release the next version of EdMap before you find all
the features in the version you just got. *hehe* (right)
