Yep, don't socket Zod into it. Any ethereal item with altered durability
will break if Zod'ed.
Altered durability = higher than in base item.

Yes, what they said.
Only other point id make is that a baranars star is hardly worthy of a zod.
Id be saving my zod for gf or something in that class.

he's dual mace barb is happy as a child at Xmax

Grandfather: Indestructible (therefore will never be ethereal)
Doombringer: Indestructible (see above)
Schaefer's Hammer: Indestructible
Lightsabre: Indestructible
The Cranium Basher: Indestructible
Wizardspike: Indestructible

So, the only elite unique weapons for which a Zod isn't as useless as tits
on a bull: Hellslayer, Messerschidmt's Reaver, Baranar's Star.

In the armor class, only Stormshield is indestructible, leaving Harlequin
Crest, Veil of Steel, The Gladiator's Bane, Arkaine's Valor and Blackoak
Shield as Zod-ables (Nosferatu's Coil not included, since belts can't be
socketed).

Out of those, I'd say ethereal Hellslayer is the best option for a Zod,
since you can get *sick* damage with it. Most of the armors, I wouldn't use
a Zod on them - a good Arkaine's (+2 to druid, barb, pally at least) being
the exception, since you can get upwards of 2k def with an ethereal one.

Items that are naturally indesctructible (some elite uniques, all bows and
phase blade) cannot spawn as ethereal.
But you can find a magical item which is ethereal, and has of Ages suffix.

Well, since the fine durability bug makes zoding good items less useful,
only the hellslayer of the elites you mentioned are worth the while since
the others are likely to break. So people, keep saving those zods and eth
weapon until after the patch.
