I was hoping that maybe a Runeword could help so it may enhance the orb
without having to use it to hit things with?

Except that the 3-socket runewords don't word in orbs (or staves).

Not true. Fury, Malice & Venom would all 'work' in that orb, but it would be
dubious as to whether they'd be much good. Maybe Venom for the PE/PN
charges, but that's about it. If it was a 2-socket orb, 'Strength' wouldn't
be too bad for cheap runes (+2 mana/kill, +20 STR, +10 VIT).

Hmmm, I thought I tried one of those in an orb, and it didn't work (but that
was a long time ago). Must be Alzheimer's kicking in early. I'll have to go
experiment.

So orbs are considered melee weapons? I thought that the
character-specific weapons were "immune" to runewords. True?

If so, Sprudling has stuffed up in his RuneWord Wizard that I
use...hmmm...shouldn't be too hard to test out a Malice runeword on an orb
(Ith, El, Eth). Must do...

Well i got a white one with +3 to chain lightening +1 to lightening mastery and put
3 Shaels in it.Its no where near the speed of shaeled Phase blade but it does more damage
not sure the trade off is worth it though.

Id like to see runewords in 1.10 for these although not with the uber spells but for the lesser used
ones like Enchant,Charged bolt etc.

Well, you could... uh, wait, I thought you asked where you could put it.
Whew, near miss.
